Am I the only one?

3 Braves and Bobby grich. Tell me you’re excited. No one is. They see chipper and move on.
And also, Chipper is one of the worst defensive players of all time. Hit it to chipper used to be our chant. Also allegedly hit his wife. He’s a switch hitter that’s all that matters. He’s a [censored] person and a [censored] card.
Our other chant was Larry Wayne.
Red cheeked switch hitting [censored] with a chud. Thats all he is. He was an arrogant [censored] redneck which is the opposite of Aaron or Maddux.

So what you're saying is he's a man of integrity, honesty, and genuine southern charm?
(In all seriousness, the abuse thing is purely speculation and I can't seem to find anything with my research on the matter. He has, however, said and done some pretty stupid [censored] when it comes to other people... particularly parroting dangerous and awful conspiracy theories.)

Sets and seasons was better

2019 and 2021 had the best models, pick one of those and dont stray too far from that path. I personally think 2019 had the best content model. Year long XP path with red diamonds was awesome.

Events had all this at one point. I remember when they actually used events to be creative. Different counts for each hitter. Remember those events. They are dropping the ball big time with creativity. They can do much more with ranked and events.

Who actually kind of preferred the season format for players from last few years? Power creep makes DD just like every other sports game team building mode (ultimate team my team etc). I'm seeing very little variety in lineups, as live series and other cool cards quickly become "obsolete". Plus we are already at 97s?
I would love to see ranked revert back , but add more wild cards that have rating requirements. Like instead 1 or 2 wildcards you have to grind for , you get three right off the bat but have to below 90. Then you get another 1 or 2 that are <93 etc.
Or better yet have a separate ranked mode with HARD lineup requirements, not the overall limit that is easily manipulated: 2 players <99, 4 players <95 , 6 players <90, etc etc
Something please.
I do not agree on:
- Lineup diversity: In a power creep everybody has to decide what weaknesses he adresses. In 23/24 there were no weaknesses since everybody had mostly an all-99-god-squad-like squad with literally no holes starting in April. It is way better this year than 23/24 were at any given time.
- Live Series: They did not matter at all in 23/24 … Rn I am still playing Ketel at SS, Shohei and sometimes JRam … besides Clemens, Beltran and Hodges who never left my squad once I got them
- People use the same lineups: I do not agree on this too. Sure, some guys always come up (Buxton, Donaldson, Santana, Clemens) … but I usually see a big variety in my games I play. That was also not the case (mainly) in the last 2 years since everbody always played the collection guys (that were too easy to get)
I heavily agree:
- Lineup requirement modes: This I totally agree on … there should be a mode that is based on team building … e.g. like they do on tournaments (1 gold, 2 cards below x etc.) … that varies very often. Make use of the binder and adress those people who have a big binder.

Imagine … 2 years of crying about sets&seasons everywhere and then this happens
(I meant „in general“

In a power creep the vast majority of people are just using the latest cards. Everyone has the same "weaknesses" because it's whatever strengths and weaknesses of the latest batch are.
It honestly wasnt any different with the last format either, because it was essentially a mini creep. But the difference was when the sets or seasons or whatever they called it would roll over. I found those first couple weeks of each cycle more fun and something to look forward to. That's where you really saw strengths and weaknesses. More rating restricted wildcards would have been even better.

Yes, the first weeks are definitely the most fun (okay and the last 2 months, when you can use full theme-teams).
That being said: I am playing Gold II and I am seeing LS Yordan, LS Marte, LS Judge, LS Ohtani, LS JRam, Diamond Santander, 91 Griffey, Egg-Hunt PCA (okay, in my lineup :)) … and those are not rare occasions … That was not the case in the last 2 years … proof enough that lots of ppl (okay I can only speak on Gold II) are okay with playing „weaker cards“ and not „the latest“

No reason it couldn’t be power creep with last years format
Now I can’t finish any collection as an offline player so that’s fun
-
Only way to make more cards useful is less content or start power creep at 70 ovr cards. Quit complaining, enjoy the game, or play something else.
-
I will say that I enjoyed last year more. I still had my issues but I ended up with more good cards than I could use and Live series cards dropped to the level where I was able to complete the live series collection for the first time ever.

I second this
-
I was able to complete the Live Series collection in 23 and 24 but not until at least December. I don't see that happening this year unless the cards plummet in value.
-
The two words I would use for this years game are 1) unrewarding and 2) nerfing
Seems like just about every aspect of DD (so far) has been nerfed: exit velocities, XP play in lower difficulties, custom stadiums,
High LS diamonds percentages in packs, lack of cards in most programs are just some of my examples. I don’t play DQ, but Ive read enough on here to see that rewards aren’t being given out like they should. All in the name of controlling “power creep”This leads to an often unrewarding game playing experience (for me).

nope, ranked, gold ii … I play e.g. Marte at SS since day 1 and I tell you what: he is not being replaced by 99 Marte
… LS matters so much more

I’m sorry but Seasons and Wild Cards were the worse things ever created in MLB the Show history. Please SDS, don’t listen to this guy. For the love of God.

The definition of power creep is starting low on overalls and that gets to the max over the course of the year. Regarding this All-Star-Content drop it looks like we are going full 99s in september.
Last year started with lots of mid-to-end-90s … Maybe you mean another kind of format, but you cannot have both.@Dolenz_PSN said in Am I the only one?:

As a cards fan, that is totally understandable. You had higher overalls way earlier and you will probably have fewer high overalls when november comes.
I am doing theme teams when christmas comes around (that was the most fun I had the last 2 years, doing that) and I was wondering, how I would set up my lineup …. probably I will have to use some non-theme-team-cards to have a chance to compete, we‘ll seeThe reason you did complete is that ppl did not care having the cards. They only wanted the stubs to buy cards for the collections and higher card.

They definitely panicked with releasing all these 97s, 98s and 99s already. I figured we'd be around 95 at All Star Break. Clearly didn't have the year all planned out. Idk if they think people are bailing on the game, but now all they can do for the next few months is release 99s with slightly better/different stats. And I guess the finest cards will have to be 125s across every stat?
I feel like, aside from just the current monthly spotlight collection, all the other collections are harder to complete. I don't like the voucher thing, where you need to do every single collection to get a good card. I think I preferred the Season Set collection, where you just throw in a gob of any cards and at least get something, as opposed to a voucher that's useless unless you have 14 other vouchers.
