Yu Darvish program (and evolutions in general)

I don't care what they do. Just fix the [censored] hitting engine
-
not to mention, we already have a whole category of programs dedicated to this evolution player thing, yet this is separate?

They have done what he has suggested once before.
I forget the year, they did a year long Jackie Robinson program, and as I recall people loved it2018 they did the Immortals programs (of which Jackie was one). And people hated that even more than sets and seasons.

They did another Jackie program back in 2020 which was really good and not nearly as long and tedious a grind as Immortals.
The program dropped on Jackie Robinson Day in April which capped with an 88 card. A month later, they added more Moments/Missions with an improved 94 version. Finally in June, they added the last release of content with a 99 Jackie to end the program.
I thought that was handled VERY well which seemed to be the shared opinion overall from the community. The big thing was that the 88/94/99 cards were all competitive at the time they dropped so none of it felt like filler.
The current Yu program is fine, but it's hard to argue that the 85 and 90 cards are pretty obsolete outside of them teams. Those should have come out earlier for sure.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN I liked the immortals. At least they were free.
-
Honestly.....i like the evolution but why 3 cards....why not one card and it evolves as you use it. I literally got through the program in 2 hours last night. Start them as they were as a rookie a 70 overall and as you use it he goes up, like RTTS. Just my thoughts. Same card, just level him up.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL Different teams get a card.
-
I think what they need to do is when a new evolution drops, Add more challenges for the existing players so you can get a Ubaldo 95 overall, A [censored] Allen 95 overall, ect.
-
And maybe a mission to allow us to uncensor [censored] Allen's name
-
@GoozeFn_PSN The 2 Billion Hats you had to collect beg to differ...LOL

It was the 2020 program I was referring to.

@GixxerRyder750_PSN Hahaha I forgot about that! It made flipping lucrative though. Were those exchanges mandatory?
-
I still have Tony Clark as my 1B man, although 'Summer' Carlos Pena hit one to the MLB Network studios 4 me yesterday in a CQ game!
Clark saved me many yellow throws!
Justin Turner has been super clutch, but he and Clark make Yaz Grandal look like Carl Lewis!
Maybe they're not good in ranked.
To say they're useless, and no one is using them is just pure ignorance. As of now, 6115 have Tony to P5. Hmmmmm.
Maybe Yu are the problem 🤪 -

Maybe Yu are the problem 🤪Very few cards are 'useless', I rarely use god squad cards either offline or online (this is one of the reasons I hate DQ, it goes against that playstyle)
The program itself sucks, I dont really feel like I am 'evolving' Gold Tony Clark, there are no other cards in the program besides Tony Clark (where are his teammates or pitchers he faced?), and the other rewards in the program suck.
And the cornerstones are formulaic, copy/paste programs. Just like Spotlight.
Yu program is a little better, but it still only has Yu and the rewards other than him are pure [censored] (xp for headliner spins and show packs...in July)
-
@GoozeFn_PSN Yeah they were...some of them where a little easier to collect than others though if I remember correctly.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN well you even it out, maybe do that for team affinity, 1 card for each team that gets leveled up during the year? gives every team the same amount of cards. IDK. just trying to think outside the box
-
@GixxerRyder750_PSN I didn’t have an issue with that. The hats were cheap and it helps the flipping market. Spending a few thousand on some exchanges is a hell of a lot better than 200k+ on a chase card or multiple cards for a collection.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL Maybe you do a cornerstone evolution as TA that just focuses on 2 players for each team, captains, a pitcher and a hitter that you upgrade throughout the year. That way you keep the theme teams relevant throughout the year and gives us a real evolution.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN thats a great idea....we should do this

This would be especially great for guys that stayed with one team their whole career, but not every team has those
Orioles come to mind with Cal and Palmer
Mets would be Wright and.....new legend Jeff Innis?
I would be 100% on board for Jeff Innis for what its worth
