Yu Darvish program (and evolutions in general)

I struggle to see the appeal of these evolution programs, the way they are implemented. They are essentially one card programs, which are universally terrible over the last two years except for Sosa, as his program at least had a lot of decent packs along the way.
Why not start the program back in March, when Yu's 85 would have been decent. Make a program for a voucher to start a 90 Yu program when released. Include Yu's teammates, or people that homered off him, in these programs. Then keep that going for the 95, and then a 99 when the time comes. Poor [censored] Allen and Ubaldo are suffering with no cards released since launch. Whats the point of new legends if they are sitting in July with an 85 as their top card? (Not evolution related, but Reggie Sanders had 3+ WAR seasons for 5 different teams plus a 20/20 season in Stl...while being a walking injury who never played more than 140 games...but just one 85?)
And if you must do this format, don't fill the track with just show packs. Thats for March/April, not for July

@Teak2112_MLBTS Make them more difficult/longer and make the final card worth a [censored].

No thanks in the more difficult phase of this
-
@nymets1987_PSN I don’t mean in terms of difficulty. I mean make it more of a grind for better cards. These cards are all basically worthless. No one is using them.

While they do a pretty good job of giving us free cards they want us more evidently than ever to buy the best cards
-
People complained about grinding for a month to get Sosa. You think they’d be ok with a 3 month long program for Darvish?
-
@dmc04005_PSN I don’t like these programs that hold us back. As expected, I have no desire to use Sosa. I may have 20 days ago. I’d rather a bigger grind for a better card, but not being held back from completing it until the card is outdated. These evolutions are unusable outside of theme teams.
-
Why would they give Darvish a sweeper and a slider but not a changeup or splitter on his best card here. Darvish throws more than 5 pitches. At least give him a better pitch mix.

They did that last year with sets and seasons. And people complained out the wazoo.

You know what I said isnt remotely the same as that.

They have done what he has suggested once before.
I forget the year, they did a year long Jackie Robinson program, and as I recall people loved it -
They screw everything up.
-
I don't care what they do. Just fix the [censored] hitting engine
-
not to mention, we already have a whole category of programs dedicated to this evolution player thing, yet this is separate?

They did another Jackie program back in 2020 which was really good and not nearly as long and tedious a grind as Immortals.
The program dropped on Jackie Robinson Day in April which capped with an 88 card. A month later, they added more Moments/Missions with an improved 94 version. Finally in June, they added the last release of content with a 99 Jackie to end the program.
I thought that was handled VERY well which seemed to be the shared opinion overall from the community. The big thing was that the 88/94/99 cards were all competitive at the time they dropped so none of it felt like filler.
The current Yu program is fine, but it's hard to argue that the 85 and 90 cards are pretty obsolete outside of them teams. Those should have come out earlier for sure.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN I liked the immortals. At least they were free.
-
Honestly.....i like the evolution but why 3 cards....why not one card and it evolves as you use it. I literally got through the program in 2 hours last night. Start them as they were as a rookie a 70 overall and as you use it he goes up, like RTTS. Just my thoughts. Same card, just level him up.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL Different teams get a card.
-
I think what they need to do is when a new evolution drops, Add more challenges for the existing players so you can get a Ubaldo 95 overall, A [censored] Allen 95 overall, ect.
