Diamond Quest - "Prime" version

Yeah, I do that every time now but there are times it still glitches. Not worth the risk anymore.

I did the math, and with the average chance of winning the pack through my 4 attempts being 76.5%, there is only a 4% chance that I would only win the pack one time. So either I am extremely unlucky, or SDS is lying. I am going to make one more run and see what the results are.
Played another rd and again, beat the showdown all 19 times, but only received 5% boost after winning a showdown twice (please, someone tell me how to get 5% instead of 3%, or is it just chance?). This meant my % for winning the pack was 69% at All Star level and 77% at Hall of Fame. Played both 3 inning games at the Hall of Fame level for the 77% chance. Won both games but only got 1 pack.
The math. These two games played at 77% brings the average chance for all 6 games to 76.67%. I have won 2 of 6 times with those odds. The probability of achieving the desired result exactly twice in 6 attempts is approximately 2.39%. Something is wrong here SDS!
Just played another rd (2 hours wasted). Played the final 2 games with a 67% chance to win the pack (was tired and didn't want to pay HoF). I got 1 pack out of the two games. So I now have 3 successes out of 8 chances with the average odds of success for each attempt now at 74.25%. The odds of having 3 or less successful outcomes out of 8 attempts with the odds for success at 74.25% for each attempt is at 0.77%. That's right, less than one percent. SDS seems to be misrepresenting the truth here.

@SpawnOfDitka_XBL I hope that's not where we are headed because if you've played Madden for the past few years it's at that point now. EA completely alienated the entire fan base.

@TripleH-4481_PSN game is completely geared towards the top 1 percent of players.
I dont know who they think they are fooling this year. With their money grab scheme.
You realize these two statements are diametrically opposed, right?
Gearing a game toward a tiny sliver of the user base sets an upper limit on potential revenue, thus making it NOT a money grab.
-
94 percent. Won on legend. No pack. This is BS and I’m considering requesting a refund for the game. It’s manipulative and fraudulent. The last diamond quest I won on 100 percent goat and SDS said whoops glitch please restart then never got back to me. It’s the prinicipal we are getting walked on
-
Ok then explain to me why they took br awards away. And only the best flawless players can now get those rewards? Explain the failed online goat concept. Explain the cpu being jacked up this year? Explain why hitting is incredibly harder this year. Yes that means its also harder for the top players. But guess what they can over come that more than most of us can.
-
Bingo. Anybody that denies any of that is likely void of common sense and all but openly admitting they are an SDS shill/fan boy/white night, whatever term you prefer.
It’s painfully obvious but they will deny it and continue living in fantasy land. Pretending the game is okay in its current state only allows this series to further deteriorate and skate by on prior reputation year after year.

I will say the flawless BR rewards are significantly more obtainable this year than the two years past. Power creep is obviously part of this, but these used to go for 200k. Now they are 1/3rd of that initially and then sub 10k after a month when they hit the online track.

@Teak2112_MLBTS They are probably more attainable because those rewards have all been trash.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS But they also nerfed how to get stubs for the majority of players that play this game. No good repeatable conquests or mini seasons. The new DQ is just another thing they have done to nerf stubs. Sorry but the new DQ is an absolute waste of time for the majority of people. You're better off doing the other ones for the 15k or so reward and buying all the cheap prime cards.
I really don't mind grinding but the juice isn't worth the squeeze this year. Next year their marketing team will put it into high gear like they do every year. However, they are trending in a bad way and will likely continue to do so while blowing smoke up your [censored] before the game launches.

Right.
So the top tier players have had their main sources of revenue (BR and Event cards) removed/reduced in value so now they have to farm DQ instead. Not to mention BR is now mostly very good players instead of the free wins like me doing the program. They would, I assume, rather be flexing against people like me in BR/Events instead of beating up the CPU.
Sure, they get WC which is worthless for people sub 600ish, but i don't think anyone really makes out that well this year.

To be fair, 3s map is the best repeatable map weve had in the last few years.
But yeah the mini season repeatables were nerfed, and it takes longer in general to play games
The new DQ doesnt nerf stub generation because the old ones exist. Its just there for something different. The problem is when less people play it they wont know if its because of all showdowns or because the packs are [censored].
I would say all DQs are a waste of time for most people. Its a terrible mode filled with ways to make you feel bad. 3s map is the only offline thing worth the average person's time sadly
There is a reason I play half as much as I did in 2023, and its not because of burn out because I barely played last year as it was so content deficient.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN yep; it’s for the « elite » yet BR players complain they’re weak and available for cheap in the following MP program.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I did the 3's map a decent amount of times and of course got nothing. Grinding for packs if you never pull anything is another colossal waste of time. Didn't they also nerf the 3's map where you don't the packs prior to the 5 pack for finishing? Pretty sure I used to get more until I looked at this last Friday.
-
You would have to complete the map between 2,500 and 3,000 times for a legit shot at Ohtani per the show zone odds.
Let that sink in for a minute and then tell me how a player should feel about that time investment? It clearly illustrates just what a colossal waste of time packs truly are.

Here's another thing I find very interesting. I'm like 130-131 or so in ranked give or take a few. Now, only about maybe 40 of those are full 9 inning games with the majority in all star. Do you know how many times I have seen Beltran? Maybe 2. Ted? Once. All star even according to SDS is the level with the high majority of players. That tends to support my argument that it is almost impossible to do collections unless you are elite, flip cards, spend money or get extremely lucky with pack pulls. I have more hours in this game (around 300) than most and I still need Ohtani (sitting on like 26k and maybe another 150k I could sell if needed) and I am not remotely close to Ted.

I am not elite, do not flip cards, have not spent money, and have not gotten extremely lucky with pack pulls and I finished live series about a month ago. I also have Rolen and Ted. It's really easy to make stubs and buy whatever cards you need if you are willing to spend about 20-30 minutes of time once every 3-4 weeks investing for the roster updates. I'm not one to tell people how to spend their free time, but for me I think it's very worth the 20-30 minutes once a month to be able to get whatever cards I want.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN Oh, I don't need it to sink in. I have around 300 hours and have stated before this is the most unrewarding show I have ever played and it's not even close. I've had bad pack before but playing this long would have at least got me the LS collection and close to Ted in the past. I grinded mini seasons a lot last year before I got LS done. They nerfed that and all other stub making possibilities into the ground.
I did play DQ today and won on goat with 84% didn't get the reward and lost the next 2 goat games I played. That is more than I lost goat before combined. Game felt like [censored] today.
-
OK you invested. That works for you. I don't watch baseball close enough to do that nor do I want to. I want to play the game and get rewarded for playing the game. I have all TA's to 315k so I have no issue grinding. I do have an issue for not getting rewarded for my time. You can grind all you want but if you never get anything in packs you feel like it is a waste of time because it is. Like I mentioned in a prior thread, I have a few more hours in PGA Tour 2k25 and feel like my time is much more rewarding in that game. I can make VC just playing the game. Can't do that in the show. You are at the mercy of the pack Gods.
-
Yep, again I’m largely in the same boat. Over 300 hours of play with all programs complete except Sosa and all the TA allstar vouchers.
I’m still missing Ohtani, Ramirez and Witt. The only big diamonds I pulled all year were Judge when he was about 200K and Trout when he was about 120K. That’s it, with well over 3K packs opened and multiple runs of 200-300 packs with zero diamonds.
I’ve been burned by DQ as well and it was enough to put me off the mode completely. The game used to be fun and rewarding but now it just feels like a gambling simulator dressed up like a baseball game.
It preys on FOMO and all the best cards are either in chase packs or part of a collection that requires chase pack cards to complete. I fear the game is too far gone and will be knocking on the doorstep of Madden and 2K within the next couple years.
The golden age of this franchise has come and gone.
