    best swings are punished

    Lie.

This game rewards bad inputs more than good ones.

    Lie.

The worst timings and worst pci placements get rewarded with foul [censored] 3x times as often as they are punished with outs.

Have data to back that up? Nope? Another lie.

squaring the ball up results more often than not results in outs.

Easily checked in your game history. Lie.

It's harder to hit this year. I don't think of it as "punishment" because I'm not four, but it is definitely harder to get hits on [censored] not in the heart of the strike zone. I think that's a good thing.

@TheBigPapa55_PSN what the poster is trying to say is very simple. Good inputs are not being rewarded as much this year as in previous years. Why is that so hard to understand? And the skill gap is closing. Why are you bashing him for this opinion? Which isnt really an opinion anymore. The game is not playing as well as previous years. Tons of people are stating this. Not just him. Calm down dude.

Yes, we know the skill gap is closing. What this asshole is doing is stating lies, then coming at us for fact-checking him. Hitting is tougher this year, but as @The_Joneser_PSN said, isn't that a good thing?

@TheBigPapa55_PSN ok i didnt read everything to see lies. I dont think its a good thing that hitting is harder. Hitting has always been hard! Now we are making it even harder. And the skill gap closing in any game will never be a good thing. Better players are well just better players. I get crushed all the time. And I crush people.

I know what you're saying, but this dude isn't really saying that. What he's saying is good hits are punished more and bad hits are "punished" less. Does that sound "true?" It's harder to piece a ball this year, but, that doesn't mean it gets punished more because it doesn't. And he has no analytics to back up his dumb claims. Personally, I haven't seen anything crazy with the skill gap.

@TheBigPapa55_PSN I hear you also. No of course I do not think that is true. But.. that being said. I do think that the game does help certain teams during games at times. Giving our good input nothing and our oppenents getting hits on everything. Seems very inconsistent.

Again, also true, but I feel like this is how the game has been for a while. Nothing new, here. It may be more prevalent this year but MLB The Show has always been funky. The issue I have is, well, the elephant in the room.

Now, wouldn't it have been a much nicer conversation had you just presented your opinion like that, and I mine, instead of you saying it sounded like I worked for the company because I came to a different conclusion and spoke out against someone who I thought was being a complete shithead?

Perhaps I would have listened to my better angels and not called you a sheep, and you wouldn't have called me a ball licker in return, and instead of escalating, we could have cordially talked about the differences and their merits or shortcomings.

I have no problem when people have different opinions on the game; just don't be like that other guy and start insulting everyone who thinks differently. No need for tribalism in video game forums... I can certainly be a [censored], but I tend to do so in direct response to that (still not a good thing).

So... whether reciprocated or not, my apologies for getting out of hand.

Agreed. But, to be fair, I can't say sorry to someone like @Afromeister_XBL. Maybe if he comes out of hiding and properly addresses us, that's different.

He was extremely condescending to someone he knows next to nothing about. Just showed me his ability to properly lay out a logical and compelling argument.

I know people hate hearing it, but it's baseball. [censored] happens. Did you hit back to back line outs with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out to end the inning? [censored] happens.

Did your opponent the next inning roll one through the infield, steal 2nd and drop a blooper in front of the RF to score a run? [censored] happens.

Is it frustrating? Yes. But for people to act like good inputs result in more outs than bad inputs do is completely asinine. Especially when every single perfect-perfect you hit is in your game logs and you can go back and you'll quickly see how often you're rewarded.

Just because it's a Perfect-Perfect doesn't guarantee that it will be a hit. Maybe the pitcher hit their spot and that negates your perfect-perfect hit.

@Afromeister_XBL I don’t disagree with that, but that is not what you said. You said the worst input gives the best outcomes and that’s far from the truth.

You're right. It doesn't guarantee that it will be a hit nor should it. But as I posted earlier in OPs last 10ish games them and their opponents were 18 for 20 on perfect-perfects, a .900 average on perfects.

My point was if you're consistently putting in good inputs, you're going to outperform someone who is consistently putting in bad inputs. Which for some reason some people believe to be the opposite.

I think the important thing to note here is explaining "outperforming someone who is consistently putting in bad inputs.

In any one game, stuff happens, a bloop could determine it. Having a game where the "worse" players wins isn't proof that the above statement is false. People need to look at a larger sample size and the overall. If I picked 20 random citizens in New York City, would they be enough proof that everyone in New York is like them? Of course not.

There is a reason one of the people in this thread that is criticizing has a 5x flawless banner, because the game in the overall is rewarding him with wins more often because of his skill.

I think frustration can happen when you’re playing this game with things are out of your control. You just have to let it go. There are so many times I’ll jam my opponent and break the bat, but they have Elly or Peter with 99 speed and they get hit, steal two bases ( because you can’t throw them out) and then I don’t get the inside slider on the par like you want it and they get a seeing eye hit, score a run. Then the next inning you get up and unfortunately hit the perfect perfect with either a guy with no power and it’s easy out or it goes directly at the third baseman, then you line out twice more after squaring the ball up. Then you sit there and get upset, but you really shouldn’t because it’s just you got unlucky. But, then next game maybe you get a just late home run with Beltran to even it out.

Just looking at your last 10 games or so, you and your opponents have combined to go 18 for 20 on perfects. I feel like hitting .900 is rewarding good inputs pretty well.

Thanks for looking up … another dead thread about complaining, not registering that nobody can see the opponent‘s input (hitting AND pitching) and reacting on specific outcomes …
I have a lot of bad input 🙂 and I know that I do not get „rewarded“ for it more than I should. Yes, there are flukes, but mainly my good inputs (if I have some) gets rewarded way often than my bad input.

The one thing this thread cannot differenciate: Streamers critizize hitting mostly for the goat difficulty. They are not talking about HOF (which most of them dislike)
