anyone losing interest?

Losing interest is probably too strong a term for me, but I am definitely getting frustrated with the pace of completing Collections.
PXP vs CPU has been nerfed, cards are way too expensive, moments (and showdowns) are unnecessarily difficult. I’ve yet to find anything to consistently flip.
In general, I feel like I’ve been set up to “fail”, not “success” (so far) when I play.
I know SDS monitors our progress, so I’m hopeful they will adjust their strategy and make things a bit easier in many areas.

I know what you mean. Whether it be moments or diamond quest I hate being penalized for winning with singles if the goal is hit one XBH for example. It kind of goes against what baseball is about, which is scoring runs. It sucks for instance to score 6 runs on singles and doubles in DQ when the mission is to hit a HR, on top of dealing with pitchers who don’t throw strikes.
They have to find some way to make those things better. They did change it from HR to XBH from past years, hell I remember the worst was a Jackie Robinson multi game thing that you needed X triples in 5 games. It was dumb because it didn’t award you for hits so they did tone it down by going with #bases sort of thing in future iterations

always one fanboy in the crowd - and YES that is an insult to you SB just so we are clear.
fanboy = Player who accepts this game and hardly ever questions it even when it's full of junk and is Madden lite etc
Wow who would have thought a forum for a game has people posting who like said game. Lay off @sbchamps17_NSW

Very much so, play against the CPU is just a ball fest this year. I'm close to done, it's late June. I've said it before and I'll say it again here, I don't play this game so the CPU can walk me, i want to be able to hit.
Just did the Suarez moment or the Arizona 9 run comeback and it took me 20 tries because not one pitch was over the plate....
So yes very close to done

I lost interest when they do 8 total base moments

But it’s only to get Sosa, who you don’t care about anyway.
-
Personally I am counting down the days until the CFB/Madden crowd leaves for the year. After they leave playing the game becomes so much more fun. Way less cheesers after they leave

I doubt it'll be the only way to get him

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL im annoyed with live series prices this year. i can understand Ohtani going for 350K/400k, but to still be close to 700k with the All_Star game less than a month away is frustrating. others cards like Marte still being over 100K at this point is absurd as well. A few weeks ago, i pulled a Mason Miller when he was going for 45k. i decided to sit on the card and wait for 50k. Hes now only worth 7501. the market makes no sense.

Agreed with all of what you said and just add on to that the fact that apparently there are stub bots on the market raising/dropping the prices, it makes it really discouraging and quite frankly feel like it's not even really worth it.
-
@samguenther1987_PSN exactly!! Grinding for cards/stats takes forever cuz everything is either a ball or a dot…….,on veteran or even rookie the cpu is throwing dots. I don’t have time for that BS. If I wanna face a pitcher throwing dots I’ll play ranked. Bring back the meatballs when grinding cpu games. It’s ridiculous!

got to watch the players real life performance, I saw and heard them talking about it when the phils were in Sacramento, miller has been hit around this year, his market dropped because everyone expects him to drop to gold,he should and probably will.
Same goes for those going good, Wednesday before the one update I saw how good Tatis was doing and got him for 66k, he went from 88-92 on Friday and price jumped to 150k, this last update I saw lindor having a good couple weeks, soto too started to turn it around raised his avg 25 pts in last 10 days, thought instead of continuing to drop they would at the least stay the same or
maybe go up slightly, lindor stayed the same soto did get downgraded,
Soto dropped 30k (so I pulled trigger too soon) but lindor went up(also about 30k) so I made out on that one and they offset, but they easily both could have did that and would have been 60k more,
Got to watch real life on these. -
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I still like playing but the grind they set up at the beginning of the season disappeared for me with the 150K for each team's path when we did the Color Storm. I generally play MLB The Show late into the calendar year or early into the next Calendar year. I don't see that changing, but I'm definitely giving myself time for other games at this point already.
-
But the nice part of the color storm or any other grinds is you get packs here and there while playing. You don’t have to play the game for those players but if you choose to you get some rewards here and there.
I’m guilty of it too but many feel like they HAVE to grind for these things just because there is a new collection.
Collections and TA are not meant to be completed day 1.
-
I unlocked Beltran and shortly after that I spent all my stubs on vlad and seager.
Then they dropped Ted Williams and I'm nowhere close and pretty much went to playing nhl 24 lol.
I skipped last weekend classic and it's starting to feel like homework again. I got stubs for seager and vlad from unlocking color storm cards on rookie level pretty much.
I generally try to build a team for online play and I haven't played online in 3 or 4 weeks.
I have 13 color storm cards and then I started a all star mini season run for altuve with cards I like and that was kind've fun but just started to feel like homework.
Id really like a 9 inning offline franchise dynasty mode where you can keep updating and adjusting your team along with the power creep. I gotta be in the mood to play online with the cheesy stuff, lag, bad stadiums, etc. I'm not always in the mood for that.
So yeah, I assume all star content will regenerate interest
-
I just think they need more captains to diversify lineups. Last year was cool - the double captain boosts made even bronzes relevant cards. This year we’ve been deprived of captains.
The key thing is that when you’re going for collections, you’re buying players you’ll never use and spending thousands of stubs on crappy cards. But you don’t have to. Why would I spend 180k on Vlad Jr. when I won’t use him anyway, to get to Ted Williams who I won’t use either?
-
Im certainly not a “The Show” market guru by any stretch, but I’m thinking a Flash sale that guarantees a 90+ Live Series player would generate MASSIVE interest. (Shrugs shoulder).
-
I low key like that the inning bosses aren’t that exciting anymore as I can take multiple days off from playing the game without feeling guilty. As long as there’s at least one decent one (Griffey, Jeter).
I have LS complete, all AS vouchers and 750k stubs so I’m just chillin’ and seeing what interests me as it gets released and I’ll focus on any programs/collections that have players I like (Harper) and just ignore the others (Sosa, entire summer program)
-
I know all about it. I've been playing this game since before it was called the Show. The market was never like this. Ever. Especially this time of year. No live series cards should be over 300 Stubbs at this point. It was never like this. And cards that were high priced never plummeted in value like this.
-
There’s only 9 players in a lineup, then pitchers. Over 1,000 cards in the game. Pick 9. If you don’t like baseball, quit. No one has to have Ted Williams just swing and miss like I do.
