    @peaturtle_PSN I would guess about 1% of the people who come on here or reddit and say they are "done" are never done. it's just more people pointlessly screaming into the void because they want everyone to have a roster full of 99s.

    No it’s just frustration and sadness for what this game has become when it used to be truly great.

    But with a name like Barfy Bad Gas I wouldn’t expect you to understand that point of view in the least. As long as you think the game is fine as is you do you.

    Personally, I love the build up to 99s. Last year, I felt that ocne my roster was set there was little need to keept rying to get better players. I am thnkful they have a power creep with each inning. It provides incentive to keep playing and get new players.

    @TripleH-4481_PSN I took ‘23 off and it helped. When I had the itch I’d complete programs or play franchise in ‘22.

    I made sure ( like every year) prior to ‘24 to watch all the pre-release streams to see if it compelled me to buy the new one.

    Also changed my mindset relative to FOMO. It’s the first year that I play online without putting full on pressure to perform and just try and stick to my gameplay plan when things go in the s**tter.

    @TripleH-4481_PSN said in I think I’m just done:

    After logging in and seeing today’s content on the heels of terrible packs, subpar gameplay, and aggressive monetization I couldn’t help but just feel it’s finally over.

    5 years of playing this game fairly heavily and I just feel like it’s not worth the time sink and not even fun like 90% of the time. If I wasn’t such a huge baseball fan I would have left a long time ago but now I confidently feel like this year is the last straw.

    I know most people won’t care and that’s not why I’m posting. I think it’s just more me expressing what I’m sure numerous long time players are also feeling. The game has become almost unrecognizable over time and it’s never going to get any better.

    I've played this series since Vin Scully was the lead commentator, and this is probably the last one I'll buy. It just isn't a good game anymore and will never be the same as I remember from the PS1-PS4 era. It was fun while it lasted, though.

    @Jacob151167_XBL

    Totally understand it and relate. Always enjoyed baseball games and played the show since 2006 and MVP baseball prior to that.

    Got into DD in 2020 and loved it. 2021 was even better. Still enjoyed 22. 23 was okay but a major shift. 24 I largely just tolerated. 25 has gone next level and left me with a terrible taste in my mouth.

    The bottom line is that the show has gone the way of all other sports games and it’s the end of an era.

    I am in my mid-fifties. I have decades of baseball video games to reflect upon. There were always the big franchises (RBI Baseball, Bases Loaded, ec) that grow and die. Usually, they die off because they fail to keep growing and improving, or they remove key features that people loved. Maybe The Show is ending it's era at the top of the heap. You need look no further than removing RTTS players from DD, or the lack of personal, customizeable leagues with friends that have some AI controlled teams, or an online franchise mode. I still love the game very much, but i will jump to the next franchise when I see these types of options in gameplay.

    I’m just hoping there is a day microtransactions die and games go back to core gameplay that is actually fun. Maybe one day microtransactions will be deemed unlawful gambling directed at children, which they kind of already are in many ways.

    As soon as a legit competitor enters the market it would certainly be enough to peak my interest.

    @TripleH-4481_PSN

    I agree completely. My love for baseball has kept me hopeful after last year and it only got much worse. ( when Bobby Witt Jr wasn’t on the cover I should’ve known it was gonna be bad) I honestly wish I wouldn’t have bought it this year bc I probably won’t even play the game. Definitely not buying anything after this year….. I love baseball tho, Always have and every year this game gets farther away from a realistic baseball game and more into a card game.

    I don’t play DD. I’m a franchise guy and usually would play it after work when I was relaxing for a little bit. I can’t even play this game anymore bc so many top prospects missing and so many young players that have been consistently playing for 2/3 years are still missing. They don’t add relievers face scans or Dominican/Venezuelan/cuban pitchers at all.

    They used to have all the top prospects in the game a year or two before they ever played a game. Now it’s all about DD and the super stars and legends in everyone’s line ups. They neglect anything in this game other than DD updates. Same graphics, same commentary, same equipment, they don’t change anything. Not even minor things like minor league stadiums (have been the same for years) they can’t figure out how to add bullpens in the stadium creator. It’s 2025 and they still have the same cheesy chains that don’t move at all, they’re always tucked in, and they’re only metal. Why would you add diamonds, or different sleeves like that garbage Nike sleeve no one ever wears. Haven’t seen that thing since 2020.

    The most frustrating thing is we don’t get Nick Kurtz or jac cagliogne but we get Cade bunnell? Makes sense…. Still haven’t added Colt Keith, Justin slaten, Jose Soriano, Ben Joyce, Tyler holton, Jordan beck, hunter Goodman, etc. we don’t get the top prospects like chase dollander, bubba chandler, Noah Schultz, Cole young, Kristian Campbell, cam smith, chase burns, Christian Moore, max Clark, walker Jenkins, or Moises ballesteros but we get Ryan Sloan, Brennan milone, and Caleb lomavita???

    These devs know absolutely nothing about baseball and it shows. It takes a couple minutes to google mlb top prospects but either they don’t care to update anything but DD programs anymore or they have one guy working on adding people and it’s pathetic. Still haven’t added Josh smith since they finally added a few players. Takes them months to add a few top prospects and Tyler Fitzgerald and Ryan walker who should’ve been added last year/2 years ago. Still not done tho….. super lazy and honestly pretty incompetent for a company that makes the only MLB video game. I wish EA or someone was still able to make a MLB game to at least give them some competition . Since they have none they give us the absolute minimum effort year after year. The same recycled game with DD updates. SDS ruined baseball video games for me. Hopefully GTA6 comes soon enough and I don’t have to buy this garbage anymore

    They have only had full minors roster for not that long and it wasn't even SDS that was doing it, it was a player of the game who made rosters for the vault.
    Maybe the deal they had is done and they aren't doing it anymore

    @peaturtle_PSN The removing of features is the part that I don't understand. The game engine is basically the same so there should be no need to be pulling out features but they seem to do it every year. And the features they put into the game seem to be a waste of development hours. I don't think I've heard anything positive about ambush hitting but that was one of their exciting new features.

    Offline players really don't have any reason to upgrade any longer. Every year we get the same lip service about improved trade and progression logic but it never changes. They tout regression as progress. E.g the new free agent process is cumbersome and they removed front/back loaded contract options. Gameplay continues to decline every year.

    Go back and play Franchise in 21 and you'll wonder why so many cool features were removed from the game. As many have said, it seems clear the developers of this game have little interest in real baseball, only the card collecting fantasy world of DD. And sadly that means offline players will continue to be left in the dark.

    The confusion of what difficulty I'm actually playing on is doing me in...especially this past week (CPU on rookie has been insane).
    And yes, I'm a bit up there in age but I've always enjoyed being able to come in and knock out some games to unwind or kill time. I understand the "power creep" everyone talks about and it wasn't an issue for me before. This past week hasn't been enjoyable.
    I'm sorry to say this friends but I am no longer having fun.
    Might be time to look into other adventures for enjoyment.

    @PAinPA_PSN yes, that isn’t discussed enough. You always had to do it yourself or download from the vault.
