Until Sounds of the Show returns

Until they put Sounds of the Show back in the game I’m done with MLB the Show. I’ve been playing this game every year since 1996 in one form or another. But I’m done paying $70 just to get a roster update without the ability to do my own walk up songs. Forget it. It’s been a great 20 years, folks.

You created an account just to announce your departure as if this is an airport? Why do you think anyone here cares that some random person created an account just to say goodbye? Most people can just leave without an announcement let alone create an account just to make that announcement.

So you are done for good huh? That feature is not coming back, just like online franchise mode.

See you next season

@ElvisD007_PSN Just download Spotify or some other music app. Load up a playlist with music you like and play it on shuffle from your PS5. Then turn off the announcers and everything other than the game noise. This was the absolute worst year ever for their soundtrack. Awful.

I'm not creating a new post (it says it's old). I'm with you on Sounds of the Show. I spend so many hours creating players to look as close to their real-life counter parts as possible.
There's two things we've lost since 2020; Sounds of the Show and the ability to keep our created players over, from year-to-year. I know about a dozen, long-time owners of the game whom have stopped buy The Show since 2021 was released. I played it on PS4 up through last year, but also had a copy for XBOX.
Dropping features is never a good thing!
It's clear most of the effort is put into Diamond Dynasty alone, but that's not where a large majority of their players necessarily are.
Let's push for this!

Just the ability to customize the music played during at bats and pitcher entrances, or after home runs, would be huge. Sadly, once again, this is an idea that hundreds of paying customers have repeatedly made to SDS to restore the ability for customers to put their own music choices into the game, vice rely on the handful of songs that SDS contracted for play.
The reason this isn't coming back?
Money!
SDS is fully invested in securing alternative sources of revenue, and that means a far tighter control over the game. Customer customization on all objective measures is a very good thing, but it suffers from one problem. Customer customization doesn't put one additional penny into the pockets of SDS. Signing exclusive deals for music, consumer ads, and even tightly restricting the appearance of custom uniforms and stadiums -- it all ties in to ensuring the game is played a certain way that maximizes the exposure of the placements that companies have paid to SDS to put into the game.
Which ironically stymies the game further since the same companies ensure in their contracts that their brands are only displayed in ways they approve. The idea that customers would be able to include their brands in different ways not under corporate control is seen as a mortal threat.
