I'm sure others have commented on this but I have seen a ton but just looking for opinions on why flipping margins are so ridiculously awful this year. I know the margins are always tight early in the year but this year just seems.next level bad. More than 2 months into the game now. With live series just about as expensive as its ever been too it just seems like it can't be a coincidence. I'm hoping they start widen some as they usually do around June/July, but they haven't even moved a bit yet. Just wanna see what others think.

You should try diamond equipment. Something funky is going on with them. My guess is random orders are being cancelled.

@theBlindRhino_PSN it seems very deliberate by SDS this year to try to almost prevent flipping. Going the Madden route and making everything expensive, making it impossible to make stubs, and putting the best cards behind pay walls. Very sad to see and not being like them is what used to set them apart from the other ultimate team modes.

@Souvie48_XBL I got all collections done without spending. Perhaps I got lucky.

You should try playing the actual baseball game to earn stubs. If you want to be a card salesman they make a TCG simulator.

    @Rhyno1986_XBL

Flipping used to be a viable way to make stubs for the average player to afford the cards they wanted. In order to earn enough stubs thru gameplay alone to afford the premier cards you need to be elite or at least way above average.

Dismissing the way flipping has been all but killed off is another example of choosing to look the other way when presented with a classic example of how the Show has fallen off in recent years. It may not be Madden or 2K but it’s getting way closer than it was just 3 years ago.

I have been an active flipper for several years now and see exactly what you’re saying. My thought is many more people are comfortable with flipping so we see the currently trend. It’s starting to widen just a tiny bit and will prob continue to widen as the weeks and months go by. Hard to stay patient tho. Keep looking for the right cards that work for you to flip. There are still some that move pretty well for me and are pretty profitable. Good luck!

It's almost as if the market and flippers are getting smarter. Yeah, I loved the good ol' days too when my fellow players didn't give a rip about the market.

We don't live in those days anymore.

I make 100 stubs per flip. It just takes a 24 hour cycle. If I was so myopic that I thought I had to out bid everyone I would probably only make 10 stubs per flip. Decide your buy and sell price and pick cards that swing along those margins. Buy cards at 300 and sell at 444. Plenty of silvers that fit this criteria but people like OP see 301/333 margin and give up.

@TripleH-4481_PSN yup exactly. Them not being like Madden and 2K is what used to set them apart. It feels very much like they have gone the pay to play route that those other ones go.

There used to be "Daily Collections" and other things like Team Affinity exchanges that would give people a reason to still buy cards like bronze and silver after completing the live series collection. Right now there is no reason to ever purchase any bronze or silver so their buy nows are constantly near quick sell value and impossible to flip.

It just feels deliberate and that they've gone out of their way to kill flipping with the hopes that people will shove more money their way. And that really sucks.

Margins were always this tight, when live series mattered (i.e. pre-2023) … You can still earn 5-figure per day, but you cannot expect to do it with 5 flips … although I saw margins for that, especially for the BR rewards.
Best flip method this year is called flash-sale 🙂 … Multiple times I saw egg-hunt-polanco for 30K (after that: 50+) and that is just one example

@YOSHI24_XBL I dont remember it being this tight well into May. I know early i. The cycle (first month or so) the margins ar very thin but certainly by June in years past the margins would start to widen up considerably. Almost June now. I could be wrong idk but I just dont remember them being this bad this late in the game

Well, then take the chances you get … imo there are plenty, even without flash sales

It usually isn't, but then LS has never been this relevant this far into the season before, add to that the division league and MLB collect are the highest ovr in the game, and QS amounts for FB/L are much lower (so there is less stubs around)...

I still disagree about this. I got live series done this last week without flipping. I did save players i felt like where gonna get a tier boost, but didnt go out of my way to say invest in buying 100 PCAs like some did when he was gold. I'm also not what I would call an way above average player. I struggle in legend and usually got 2-1 every 3 games on HOF and have never gone flawless even since playing since 18.

I honestly believe that SDS put DQ in the game to help people stub grind with the rewards being able to be sold. I also do agree with the people who say it was a huge gut punch to take away event program rewards.
