Since directional/timing is allowed and it is easier, why don't you just use it yourself?

@Insanecat556677_PSN said in Timing and directional should be removed for ranked diamond dynasty.:

Dear the team at San Diego studios, Ihave always played and enjoyed the show for as long as I have lived. But something always bothers me, the feeling that it is not fair whenever I play a ranked game, And that’s because of hitting modes like directional and timing. Ranked modes are supposed to be about raw skill and since to hit with these modes you only need to hit a button, I feel it isn’t fair. With some form of pci you have to physically move the pci to the ball while having good timing to get a good hit. While people who use directional to timing just have to press a button. Making it easier to hit pitches and home runs in ranked. So I feel like since ranked is supposed to be skillful, people should have to showcase it. So that’s why I think that directional and timing should be banned. Thanks for your consideration, - insanecat556677

    Here we go again.

Can you POSITIVELY confirm that your opponent is using Timing or Directional?

    No, you can't.

You’re 2-8 in ranked. Maybe you should try directional.

    Or timing, but I’m 0-0 in Ranked. I shouldn’t be trolling 😂😂😂

Is it already time for the Bi-Annual timing/directional complaint.

    Man, how time flies.

I agree with OP but only because it stinks when I join a random co-op game and my teammates are using these methods. I am not good enough to carry a team.

While they're at it, they should also ban the use of low response time gaming monitors. That makes as much sense as banning directional and timing.

I'm going to take the counterpoint here. I have a neurological condition that sometimes affects my left hand. There are days its barely working, but I still want to play the game I love. So, I go directional. Its much easier for me to pick a direction and try to time my swing properly. I know I'm at a disadvantage competitively, but I love to play so much I don't care. I'm simply having fun playing a game I love.

If timing and directional gave an unfair advantage then all the try hard streamers would be using it. They all bought xbox consoles a couple years ago becsuse they thought xbox was better. Do yourself a favor, play a game, hell an inning, using timing. It's trash.

It also needs to be allowed in ranked for children, old timers, and people with disabilities.

I disagree. The one thing that should be taken away is all the strike zone views.

According to my wife, I'm both a child and an old-timer. I tore my Achilles playing Pickleball a few days ago, so maybe that counts as a disability. Three-for-three!

@fuminpuma_PSN youre being sarcastic but for selfish reasons id love that. Because its the only variable that explains (outside of the fact im just not very good to be fair lol) why i feel so outmatched. Especially hitting. Ive done everythjng else in my control, i specifically bought a cord to always play wired, i cleaned the dust from inside the ps5, i try to keep over 100gb free on drives at all times etc.

Im not buying a computer monitor to play one game. Feels like a design flaw. Plus it just wouldnt work for my setup in my already cluttered living room. Lol

@Insanecat556677_PSN if you think ranked modes are about skill you've never played...basically any ranked mode. Including this one where how people try to win games is with spamming super fast runners and deking out throws to exploit animations. When bunting was easy it was bunt-steal-steal-bunt. or spam sinkers up and in when that was impossible to hit. these things are not "skillful" and not how you play real baseball. but alas ppl always rely on cheese to win games. But if you actually think directional gives you an advantage you are delusional.

So for the people who use those batting interfaces, screw them, right? Let them learn how to use what you use if they wanna play online? Gtfo with that.

    • Sincerely,

    A zone hitter.

This is an awful take. If directional is so much worse, wouldn't you want those players as opponents? Easy wins for you then, right?

@SquishySoldier_MLBTS a good LG tv with low input lag is a good compromise, bought one last year and I had to readjust because I was early on everything. I don’t want to sit in front of a monitor to relax.
