Game freezing mid co op game.

Why is it that I get a ban for backing out of an unplayable game? Playing co op with a buddy, he hits a Homer then I hit a Homer. Then the game just freezes with both of us looking at the other teams pitcher on the mound. Can't pause the game, can't do anything but sit there. We sat for 10 minutes thinking that the other team quit and the game was gonna take us back to the lobby. No, instead it gets to point where I close my app and my buddy stays, he tells me that we got the win but I also received a temporary ban because I did literally the only thing that would fix the game for us by closing my app. Please fix it.

Happens to me all the time. Not only do i lose the points i get a 2 hour cool down penalty for leaving a game they can't make work after 20 yrs
