Using Starters As Relievers?
-
Thoughts?
Do you do it?
Do you like the ability to do it or do you think it takes away from the game? -
I didnt even know you COULD. I vaguely remember facing someone who had clemens (i think) as a reliever and wondering "heh, didnt know you could do that, wonder if i should look into it" but then I kinda just forgot about it lol

It's stupid because if you use a starter, you have to wait 5 games to get them back to full energy, no matter if they throw 1 pitch or 100 pitches.

True, unless it's co-op. Then you are facing 99 Clemens followed by Zimmermann haha

You can do it but your pitcher will go yellow after just a couple pitches and usually red after 1 inning. Not worth it

I've done a few ranked games where I start Clay and piggy back with crochett
Or use the pipeline white Sox pitcher and piggy back with a righty.
Once my Pitchers hit yellow I usually remove them and pitches right now get tired quick.
I have clemens and will have John d and degrom soon. I also feel comfortable pitching burnes for a normal start.
But like al Leiter if I start him in ranked I have another sp ready to go cause I just don't have confidence in him. I feel like I could prob be pretty good splitting al Leiter and Roy halladay in one game but don't think im pitching neither 8 innings
Once stamina gets boosted a bit I likely won't do that
