As a person dedicated to this game for 20 years

People just love defending them, for some reason, but, yeah, overall, it is probably the worst year since I've been playing (started with '16). It's honestly worse than '18, at this point. They are certainly doing a few things right, but a WHOLE lot wrong, and it seems to be getting worse, not better. And I don't think there's any question, from the standpoint of the actual functionality of the game itself, that this is EASILY the worst it has ever been. There is just SO much that either simply doesn't work or works badly. I don't know what they changed or who they fired, but they need to bring them back, because this, literally, isn't working.

I’d guess that they are either SDS employees on burner accounts, friends or family of employees, or people that define such a huge percentage of their lives by this game that any attack or criticism of the game is taken as a personal attack on them for which they simply can not stand for.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I think hitting sucks offline too. Couple that with jacked up reaction times and speed of even rookie CPU defenders and the game gets old quickly. Game will be stale before summer if they don’t fix the hitting.

@A_PerfectGame_PSN I’ll give you the pitching, and hitting is sometimes random but defensive is great. It literally makes perfect sense based on the animations and situations they are in. The throwing meter will be harder for some guys going into the holes than other guys. I really like the breaks on balls, it makes the little things matter when looking at a card now.

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN when I dive for a ball. I never get the ball off in time. It refuses to allow my meter to even come up. It’s really frustrating. And that was with Lindor. I had him in my line up for defense because I thought it was the card. He was doing the same thing. He gets to balls better but the delay on throws is not good. And that’s the part that drives me insane. It’s like it’s pausing to give the runner the exact amount of time he needs to get on base. And by the time the meter actually comes up a 45 speed is already safe. I thought the defense was better last year. I think they kinda broke the defense in search of realism that they did not accomplish. They just now make errors even when the play was made for no reason.

@A_PerfectGame_PSN if you do ur meter late it locks it and it sounds like that’s what u did. Try doing it pre dive. That’s what I do.

Yeah this game is becoming so frustrating with [censored] devs and their [censored] poor programming. Two games where tearing the cover off the ball all for outs except maybe once and opp. gets cheap hit after cheap hit make it make fkn sense.

@A_PerfectGame_PSN good post, I just disagree … 24/23 were worse (comparing the games from 21 up to now)

Agree on all points. MLB 25 is rivaling 18 rn for worst MLB I’ve played. Exit velos on good swings are the worst I’ve ever seen. Pitching is the worst it’s been since they’ve added pinpoint. Fielding is all over the place.
I used to be elite at this game and I was hoping to return to a competitive level this year, but after a month of this gameplay, I’ve changed my mind. I’m with @doobiebross66-72_PSN . It’s better to take a casual mindset to the game and not care so much about stats and record. Actually the game is so bad that it’s been making it easier to laugh off the losses.

I’m not one of those that thinks a perfect perfect should always be a hit , but I can honestly tell you I have LOST COUNT of how many perfect/perfect foul balls I’ve hit where I’ve been given a measurement on how close they were to home runs.
