Happened about six times today in online play. PS5 makes no loud fan sounds. I don’t have it in a hot place. I clean it. Seems like a 25 issue.

Cleaned out my ps5 yesterday and if the vents inside are plugged it will do this. No over heat warning, immediately shut itself off. You need a t8 or t9 torque wrench available on Amazon for about $5, and a can of compressed air. Many YouTube videos to follow.

Used to happen to me way too much last year. Drove me absolutely nuts. My issue was power distribution, because I have multiple things plugged in the same outlet including my PS5, so I had to get a whole new extension cord and basically re-route my PS5.

I had that problem with my first PS5. A clue that it was about to turn off was garbled dialog and a buzzing sound.
You should get a new machine, and buy a little fan just in case.

Was gonna ask y’all for my friend wanting to buy on ps5 if this was still happening. I have on Xbox but own a ps5. I have my ps5 turned backwards to breathe better and have never had a game do what is being described. My old Xbox one Scorpio would overheat and shut off with borderlands 3 pushing it. Had to turn backwards and did help. Seems like need lots of space for the fans on these new systems.

I vacuumed it out this morning. I have three PS5s so if I have to swap out which one I play this on I can. I had this one since February 2020 and never had this issue. Also had never cleaned so there was a lot of dust.

@theBlindRhino_PSN oh okay so it seems like it’s maybe the newer models with overheat issue. I have 20 model too and my buddy who buys game every year has a newer model from 23 I believe. Thanks for info I’ll keep him posted. Hopefully an update can alleviate soon.

@MrNintendo_MLBTS I have an old model, it was dirty. If he is having this problem, he needs to clean the 4 vents inside machine.

Have had PS5 on for 11 hours. First game in ranked seasons…no issues. Went 9 innings. Simple removal of sides and vacuum worked. Still bought the toolkit recommended. Just wanted to give feedback.

@theBlindRhino_PSN yeah, we had to take ours apart and clean out dust from the fan. whats weird is i dont play that much, there are other games ive played to excess and left on etc, and ive never had a game do this before.

Sure, cleaning and maintaining your ps5 can mitigate it, but i agree this is a show problem. Which is weird because the game runs laggy and has graphics from 2009.
