Can anyone tell me if you pinch hit or get rest days as a fielder/batter?

I had last years game and not once did I pinch hit as a low overall rookie or get any rest days. Right out of AA I was in the starting lineup (even during a slump). When I made it to the majors I was getting 650 plus ABs a season. I remember in past games you used to have to prove yourself and earn a spot as a starter. Is this still the case for MLB 25 RTTS?
