I officially have no way to play MLB: The Show 25
-
@trfatboy22_PSN no need for the literally...the ps5 has ben out for 5 vyears is all you need to write
-
@Chezco_MLBTS I only agree with you bc they’re still running the same engine they’ve been running since Xbox one / PS4. Other than that, most games are gonna stop performing on the older systems so if you want to play new games you’re gonna have to get next gen console or a PC
-
It is stupid they seem to want to move to next generation only, but then made it avail on switch, so they had to build the game to run on old gen hardware. Seems counterproductive. Doesn't sound like you're missing much tho
-
I still remember all of those people saying that GRAPHICS WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER when they removed PS4 and Xbox One, but they didn't improve one iota, and performance didn't get any better either lmao. There was legitimately no benefit to MLB 25 the show being exclusive to current gen + switch

Sucks to be you, i guess. You should have known the day would come when it wouldnt be available on last gen consoles. They even gave an extra 3 years or so to get ready.
I really don't get this argument. Yes, I understand that the PS4 and Xbox One, launched in 2013, are performance bottlenecks. Yet, cross-play is enabled on the Switch, which was technically not even close to the PS4 or Xbox One. The Switch 2 will basically be a PS4 Pro handheld in 2025.
It doesn't matter if you get it or not. They could probably still half [censored] a PS2 or a PS3 version of The Show if they wanted to, but it would cost more money than they would make in sales. The fact of the matter is that all things come to an end eventually. For people to act surprised like the PS5/XBX/S haven't been out for 5 years already is ridiculous.

Some of you are quite obviously missing the point. There are those of us who can easily afford a new console but don't see the point in buying a new one every few years for marginal upgrades when what we have works. Or have better things to spend our money on. Or whatever other reason you want to name. Taking it off PC in all ways is nothing more than a shallow attempt to prop up a floundering console market and like the good little brainless consumers you were taught to be, you not only defend the corporate vampires but you attack other humans. And you wonder why things are so messed up in the world today, this this is why. All bow to the all mighty dollar and your corporate overlords. SMH
Sure, PC gaming is cheap and consumer friendly

Do we really have to create such posts regularly? Way to beat a dead horse. It is not coming back to older consoles

Fair enough, but you do see my point, though, right?

Word is that MLB mandates Switch support, though one wonders how much longer than will remain the case. MLB The Show is coded differently and in an entirely different version for Switch.
Still, I agree with the larger comments in this thread. XBox One was first released in 2014 for sale and is 2013 technology. In the computer world, that's ancient technology being it is of course 2025. I can certainly understand the value of money, but today even an 11-year old XBox One console is priced at about $250 on Amazon. So, the latest and best XBox X/S being listed on the same Amazon for $574 isn't unreasonable.
A less expensive XBox S console with half the memory is listed on Amazon at $284.
-
Im pretty sure they'll add it on xcloud. they've added non-gamepass games on xcloud the last 9 mo so no reason not to do the same w/ 25.
-
@Chezco_MLBTS Wait.......
Does this mean it's not on the super Nintendo? -
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS Yet it was literal. Therefore, it literally made sense to write literally. Considering I wasn't being figurative or exaggerating. I was bein...literal.
Would you like a link to a dictionary?

I mean, it absolutely can be. Buying parts from budget brands, buying parts that aren't the top of the line, or even buying parts second hand can make it far, far more affordable than you'd think. That PC will last as long, if not longer, than the console itself (Unless you're trying to live on the bleeding edge, of course). Add onto that the savings you'll have from not paying for PSPlus/XBL for online play, and the gap disappears very, very quickly.
Honestly, it's surprising that SDS HASN'T released a PC port of the game yet. It's not exactly a complicate endeavor to port everything from PS5/XSX over to PC, and the "cheater problem" is comically overblown (Madden and 2K don't have the rampant cheating people think of, because cheat tools is a for-profit business). Plus, if it was a legitimate concern they could easily throw on one of those super anti-cheats that games like Helldivers or Valorant have
-
@trfatboy22_PSN actually it's used for emphasis...which is not warranted in your case... but to each his own
-
@Chezco_MLBTS said in I officially have no way to play MLB: The Show 25:
How is it that they make it next-gen only, then remove it from Game pass, while also making it run on Switch which has 8 year old mobile hardware and gives you a horrible experience while playing. This game not being on Game Pass means that people like me with original Gen Xbox 1, have to go out and buy a 500$ console just to play the game as it was intended. Take it off game pass? Fine. But there being no PC port for people like me who have played the Show since 06? cmon man. this game is essentially a yearly official roster and soundtrack update.
Brother it's been more than a decade..... its time to upgrade your console.
-
@squishiesgirl_MLBTS I'm pretty sure the speaker determines when emphasis is needed and not the reader. If the speaker wants to emphasize something then it is warranted. That being said you are literally wrong, try looking up the defenition
-
@trfatboy22_PSN yes the definition you are using is correct..the context however is not
-
@trfatboy22_PSN the speaker can. Choose when to use it yes...does not however make the use correct
-
@trfatboy22_PSN but as I said to each his own...just is odd to use it unnecessarily

This post got much more of a response than I expected. The console has been out for 5 years, but why would I want to pay to be locked inside of an ecosystem using a method of input that I don't really enjoy unless I'm playing MLB The show I would literally be buying a 2 to $500 system just for the right to play MLB the show I would not buy a single other game on the console and that is the point that you guys are failing to understand. When it was on Game pass for PC players even though yes they didn't make a lot of money on the game because it was essentially freeloading it meant that people like me who have 12 different copies of them I'll be the show sitting in their room across PS3 and Xbox One it just gets to a point where if they're going to use the same exact graphic engine not change anything about the game and release it on the switch that can literally be described as potato graphic why is it fair that we'd be in a position where we can't play the game because they want us to pay full price for a product that isn't getting better year after year is being pulled from other platforms just because they know that there are people like me who use the switch as their main console and I hate to say it but it literally looks like shovelware on the switch
