Trout's future price speculation

Trout is one the the “gate keeper” cards in regards to LS collection
His price will never go down that much especially this early in the game cycle
-
@GodShammGod2_XBL
If he was no longer an 87+, let alone a diamond to begin with, then yes his price will definitely go down. -
I wouldn't hold my breath that his card drops below an 87 any time soon because SDS knows what that will do to the price.

Really? I had...no idea.

Price for the collection (division)wouldn't change even if they downgraded trout, one of the other diamonds would jump in price and take over as gatekeeper

Judge already has unfortunately

Yeah…He’ll eventually drop as low as $50k but that’s MONTHS from now. And I don’t think SDS will drop him to a gold, That’s like giving us all $100 & I don’t think SDS does that.

Judge jumped cause of the supercharge

And they will not do that to his card… again trout among others are gate keepers to LS collection
Trout’s price never drops early in the game cycle.

I’m really not understanding your sarcasm with this post because your previous post that I responded to was not apparently sarcastic to the average reader

One of only 4 diamonds i need in the AL so im hoping he drops to 3500 stubs over the next few weeks. If not, i'll bite it and buy for 175,000

There's a huge difference between 3500 and 175,000 don't you think? That alone should indicate sarcasm. I've played MLB The Show since 2006. I don't need someone to tell me about the "gate keepers" like it's some unknown industry secret that few people have knowledge of.

@GodShammGod2_XBL
We all have to accept the fact that he's not the best player anymore, and hasn't been for a while. He's not the same "trophy". There's going to be a time when his price is 1K or less, and previous years have no bearing on that. -

Obviously, he's not gonna sell for 3500 stubs any time soon but considering the last few seasons and his abysmal start this year, its not crazy talk to think this may be his final year as a "gate keeper". Its not like Judge, Ramirez and Witt wont slide into that position. They pretty much already have anyway.
-
What are you talking about?
Trout will be a LS gate keeper for this game’s entire life cycle… will his price drop in months to come? Of course it also happens that way.
But if you think Trout’s price will drastically drop in a few weeks you’re sadly mistaken
What you’re saying about future price points for a LS Trout card in mlb 26 and beyond is irrelevant to this conversation about his price in mlb the show 25

Are we really talking about trout being done after a week...is devers done too? lol

No. We're talking about Trout being done after nearly 5 years since his last MVP caliber season. At 33 years old and a list of injuries piling up since the covid year, its safe to say this is Mike Trout now. Injuries just dont miraculously cure themselves over time.
For the record, it wasnt too long ago in these forums that people told me i didnt know what i was talking about when i would say that Jacob deGrom needed to ease up on the 100mph fastballs 50 times a game. At the time, his cards were about 150K. He blew his arm out shortly after. How much is his gold card now?
It happens to everyone.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen to everyone but to his credit, when he plays he's a well above average hitter by almost every metric still and a little nitpicking but his last mvp type season was 2022 which would still be part of his stat balance per the games rules of 3 year average

But if you look at the drop in production from his last actual MVP seasons to his last MVP TYPE season, it tells a bigger story. Steals, way down. Strikeouts, up. Walks, way down. Batting average, OBP, OPS, OPS+....all down and continuing to go down the years after that. I get it...he was hurt. But aging and being away from major league pitching for months at a time isnt gonna make him better, is it?
Again, i know his card wont go down this year but it shouldnt surprise anyone if he's an 84 next year, thats all im saying.

Trout just homered so this thread is already aging like milk
