Online Play - Choppy and Laggy

Really disappointed with the online connection / experience so far. 4-0 in ranked, but When I am home team it is fine because I have Xfinity Internet and a wired connection I think but about 50% of the time when I am on the road the game is very choppy pitching meter legs here and there.
I’ve seen some streamers with the same gripes.
My main question: Will this get better with time when less users are on or is this just because we are on the same game / servers etc ?

I have had issues with when Manny Ramirez is in the game. It becomes choppy

I've played 3 ranked games and maybe a dozen events and haven't had any issues. Oddly enough I can't recall running into Manny altho one of my opponents today had elly and didn't notice a lag with elly batting.
I will say I turned crossplay OFF. And today when I went to play it said I was connecting to a Xbox person so I dropped out and noticed my crossplay was back to ON.
So like pci anchor settings it seems like they're just not getting saved so maybe people are running into crossplay games mistakenly too
Idk but so far my experiences have been good
