Or you could have what happened to me in DQ happen! I beat the 1st stadium and had won both 87Bazanna and 85 Burns. Chose to exit and save the quest for later to take on last stadium. Come back and load up the quest and it gave me a message saying I lost the stadium and subsequently lost all my packs and diamond cards. Submitted a ticket and doesn't look like they care to do anything for me as of now.

@splattz35_PSN With as buggy as The Show usually is, any mode where you "win" an award, but that award is conditionally delayed is an absolute "no" from me. Getting through a game without it screwing up in enough of a miracle. No way am I wasting my time on anything where that much has to go right before you actually get anything.
-
I was going to say that I am pacing myself but in all honesty, I just don't play as much as many here do.
I am still working on the Cactus league Conquest. Now we have two more.
I just did the first 7 or 8 team affinity moments for other teams.
Still have not finished the Pipeline program
Have not touch mini seasons or March to October either. And, now with Assassin's Creed Shadows releasing my play time is reduced even further.
-
Just playing the game really, not really focused on anything and things are kinda just coming to me.
-
I pre-ordered and I'm someone that generally prefers online. I've been so busy with moments, player programs, conquest maps, etc I haven't even gotten to online play outside of 3 event games.
Content for me is in a good place and I feel like those first 4 days I was able to play forever. Then I had to go to work and real life routine set in. This weekend I'll be able to knock out the new conquest stuff, haven't even had a chance to start mini seasons yet.
I'm tryhing to get most of the offline stuff before I start playing online more

Stop being whiny bitches. You can still farm packs at a decent clip in MS. ~21-22 wins for 15 packs plus a ballin. Over time you will get the pipeline/new threads (I assume) packs, as well as the MS banner/uni/logo tradeins
Along the way you are getting TA progress, unlike last year when you would have finished TA by now.
And they released TWO conquest maps today, one of which has a good chunk of games to play through
Show packs are still easy to earn (and more valuable when you pull a good LS diamond). It looks like they have done away with locking all the best cards behind shop packs, and have made the cards from shop packs easier to acquire.
And as the year goes on the newer mini seasons will have more rewards as well.
The changes have been overwhelmingly positive for NMS folks and card collectors, if the tradeoff for that is a little slower pack farm that seems fine to me
To be clear, I think its perfectly fine to ask why we dont have a repeatable conquest map and ask for one to be implemented, but there is a lot of hyperbolic nonsense

100%.
As someone who plays primarily offline and grinds way more than the casual gamer as well as the majority on this forum most likely, there has been a TON of content to dive into. The game has barely been out for a week and they have already dropped NINE Conquest maps along with multiple featured programs on top of the eternal TA path. That doesn't even include modes like DQ and Mini Seasons which are lucrative and also require a decent amount of time.
They have done a fantastic job so far offering a ton of stuff to grind. Anybody who is complaining about a lack of offline content is probably the 0.001% who lives on the game and I'm sorry, but they are never going to be able to give those kind of players enough.

As a mega grinder myself, I love the amount of content, but don't love the mediocre awards attached to them.
I've completed Classic MS twice and the second time was underwhelming. Ive completed every Conquest except Grapefruit. And I had 2 full runs at DQ.
But Team Affinity? Only have 3 Jolt bosses so far so I've got a lot of work to do there.

I’m actually starting to think DQ is the better grind option vs conquest or MS for rewards. Hear me out. I’ve already been telling everyone that you can straight up bee-line to the stadiums by forfeiting every quest. If you’re playing DQ for the grind, you don’t care about the percentages.
But if you play the DQ with the ballin packs, you can usually get to the White Sox (an absolute mess of a team) by doing like two quick challenges (if you’d like) and end up being able to play on rookie with anywhere from a 15-25% chance to win a ballin pack on top of a regular pack. Plus, one or two bronze packs maybe (and even an extremely small chance to win the epic card). Don’t sneeze on those bronze packs right now. There are a LOT of bronze/silver cards going for 200+ right now.
Anyway, win and quit the quest.
I’d say in an hour, you could have four regular packs, up to 4 ballin packs, and up to 8 bronze packs.
I’m pretty confident that is better return than mini seasons or the repeatable conquest maps ever gave. Plus, the stadium games give stats and PxP.
-
exactly. well said.
-
"Plus, the stadium games give stats and PxP."
This is why I'm excited to try your grinding strategy. I hate wasting time on moments and challenges that give no PxP.
-
Okay, did a test run. It took 33 minutes to play the Chicago/Philadelphia DQ. I forgot to mention that you can save a minute or two by just playing both stadiums in that DQ, although Philadelphia is substantially more talented than Chicago (plus you do run the risk of losing your rewards if you do lose that second game; probably shouldn’t lose).
I played Chicago on All-Star (to get the Ballin packs to 30%) and Philadelphia on Veteran (no reason really…) and that ballin percent was 21%.
I actually didn’t get a single ballin (boooo), but came away with the two standards and two bronzes.
So, the math does check out. I’m also going to work quickly on an optimized lineup. What I mean by that is figuring out where you would want players in your lineup for challenges, if you care to do those. You can always adjust your lineup for the actual game (although you are stuck with the 13 players that you start with). The goal being that you have players in the right spot for things like “starting with your seventh batter…”.
Once I get the all figured out, I’ll post an update.

So I like playing on Rookie because I'm 100% guaranteed to win.
Do you recommend playing on Vet (where I'd have probably 80-90% win)?
Or even All Star (probably 60-70% chance to win)?
It just makes me nervous, taking a chance id wasted my time and got nothing.

Im the same way, so I totally get it! I usually play the first game (against the White Sox) on veteran, or even all-star if I have a couple favorable boosts, because seriously… they are absolute trash. If you start your 4th pitcher, they start Martin, who basically hangs everything that isn’t a fast ball (and even his fastball is pretty hitable) or his pitches are pretty obviously out of the zone.
If you stay in DQ, and go play Philadelphia, I would just play that one on rookie.
-
@JDHalfrack_PSN good call. I routinely abused the White Sox in last year's game. My pitcher i loved to destroy was Drew Thorpe. He's rated a little higher than Davis Martin but how slow Thorpe pitches helps me get around on him even with righties.
I'll try White Sox on Vet/maybe all-star and then Phillies on Rookie.
Thanks for this. I think your plan will really help us offline grinders. That is until SDS somehow nerfs this too...

@dbub_PSN Here’s the writeup I just did. Sort of the same things discussed in this thread, but also expanded upon.

I have schwarber, biggio, angels, rockies, Mets and maybe one other jolt boss.
I have angels and astros because I finished the collection so got a big boost. Mets I singled for Franco cause I wanted the lefty. Rockies I got because of all the ubaldo usage for his player program and schwarber ditto bc of abreu usage.
With the bosses I think you almost need to strategically target them if you have your eyes set on someone. Today im working on brewers/dbacks players in conquest to hopefully unlock Martinez and fingers to boost my bullpen

I don't think content is dry at all as someone who has put in a good amount of hours already I still have co quest maps to do, only 10 games into mini season and no DQ runs done the content has been good to start.
SDS has paced things pretty good so far and I really am getting the MLB 20 vibes
