Wasn't a reward path for events but as they were backing out of mp program they said careful about spoiling,so there might be one.

This does look like it will kill BR and Events. Im fine with the WS/Flawless rewards being delayed a month. I'm disappointed they went with high offensive numbers again, I think 150 hits is fine for 75% of people but torture for the other 25%. Without innings in there it will make quitting when you face good pitchers the absolute best play for those with no hope of world series. I will 100% do it, thats the way the game is designed now. If you strike out the side in the first inning you are getting a friendly request followed by a full quit.

It’s a massive L. You have to go 10-0 or make WS to get the reward. Which is reverting back to what it used to be. But now what’s my incentive to play BR and events? I get the player rewards, and I’m done.

I know they said they’re going to include them in later programs but by the time I can earn the WS reward and BR reward it’s no longer usable. I understand the power creep still makes them relevant, but why take away a good thing with replay value and kneecap things? BR just became infinitely harder because someone grinding a program is going to stick to events instead of using 1500 stubs to get beat up by a goon.

I can go on and on, but SDS dropped the ball big time with this.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL No reason to play event. No dedicated event rewards anymore. No reason to play BR unless you can go 10-0. They really fumbled this one.

HUGE L. They didn’t do anything to CO-OP except PXP!!

I don’t wanna use 3 hitters of my choice lol. And face the same pitcher every single time

Yup, everyone here confirms what im thinking, they’re pitching it as “consolidation” but this is basically a removing of rewards.

Events were my favorite mode and now they’re even less important than before…this is the first big L of the ‘25 DD news cycle but man is it an uppercase Big L.

    I do not get the Ls … especially the over-exaggerated „HUGE“-stuff 🙂

BR: I am with you on that. There is no reward to spend 1.500 stubs if you cannot go flawless. But if you can you get some pretty solid rewards that remain high in price until the next program drops

Events: Is still a nice way to play online casually, try out cards and net stuff (and wins) for TA

Ranked: This is where wins still matter a lot (Besides TA and to some extent events)

If winning is a very important thing, then people will quit (even more). I like that it does only matter in BR and ranked (and there quitting hurts even more). I will still go for the W no matter if I get a direct incentive on the mp program or not (in other words: I do not get the complaints)

EDIT: Folks, look how it plays out 😉

I dont think they are removing rewards, the combined track looked much better than anything that was ever in those other tracks (there are more pipeline packs in this first track then shop packs earned in all three tracks over the last 2 years combined). The Event cards in particular were fairly mediocre most of the time and BR and WS still have their cards

But yes, if you actually liked events or BR and are average or worse this is a big L. Even if they just have repeatable program progress for 'play 5 BR games to completion', 'play 5 Event games to completion' and 'play 2 ranked games to completion' that could bring the casuals back to the BR/event programs

They said there will be rewind packs so they will be there. With slow power creep thats not an issue to me personally

The one W was lowering the rating for WS.

They were very carefully navigating the menus so I don't think we saw everything so they didn't spoil anything for tomorrow.

@Teak2112_MLBTS Depends on if those cards are still relevant by the time that drops.

@Teak2112_MLBTS with a well drafted team in BR I can grab 7-8 wins. But im not spending stubs if my only incentive is program progress. I’ll take the free option in events. But I’ll focus my time in ranked so im in a better weekend classic tier.

As far as events, depending on when they start I’ve knocked out all 15-20 wins in a few hours and have been able to sell the reward for huge profit. Which is fine for that aspect of grinding. I don’t think that changes. With the way it’s set up now, I just need to grind the program up to the next reward drop, and I’m done. I don’t need to grind out an event for wins.

It just takes away the replay value of the online modes.

Will be nothing but stat boosting in events. Guess we'll see how they respond to that

Should keep a win total reward of some sort in events

My suspicion is that the online modes have in the past led to burnout and loss of players.

Any of the tracks by themselves wasnt too bad, but all three was A LOT. This allows a much higher % of people to keep up with both offline and online programs and I assume thats the reason behind that

I think the reduction in time played online to complete all three programs is a MASSIVE W. However, I share the seemingly common opinion on the actual execution of it. It will kill 2 of the three modes which isnt good, even if I despised events (mainly due to win or nothing) I don't wish it dead.

The return of tiered mission drops is a big L. There’s no reason to play the program until all missions have dropped.

Except for risking not completing the larger stat ones that release earlier, depending how much time you have and how quickly you can get the missions done

@Teak2112_MLBTS I agree. There needs to be some kind of happy medium. Unless they’re going to flood the game with stubs so we can easily buy the rewards through play, the other two modes will die.

Side note: I suspect WS and maybe BR rewards will be available as tier rewards in weekend classic.

@Alimathus_PSN agreed, it’s better to rack up stats in events and lose than it would be to win 3 in a row with low stat accumulation. STUPID !!
