Power Creep
-
@CHUCKnDUCK20_XBL Parallels are likely capped at +5 still. The power creep refers to the cards available. Most of the best cards in the game at launch will be low 90’s with the exception of the live series collection. As the year goes on they’ll drop better and better cards. It will creep up much slower than you are used to without seasons.
-
basically, power creep means they're not gonna release a bunch of 99s right away. which is great and makes live series most valuable, parallel cards more valuable, and collections much value.

Not the same card but the same player with a higher rating? Is this accurate? -

I started playing this game 2 years ago so I have no experience with the power creep. Is every card on a power creep? Negro League players too as well as every other category? I would guess live player cards are not? Thanks in advance for the help!
If you’ll recall last year, the beginning of a season would start with the top cards at 93 or so. As the season progressed, better cards would released along the way.
It’s the same thing, only a “season” lasts the whole season.

Not the same card but the same player with a higher rating? Is this accurate?Yes. The power creep basically means you could get say a Ken Griffey Jr 87 at launch but then there may be a program with an 91-93 down the line.
Parallel basically gives you an opportunity to increase the cards stats by +1 for every level (5 total)

If I recall correctly, we start to see some 99s peppered in around the all-star break or shortly after.
-
I’m glad power creep is back for the sake of most of the fans of this game. I will be honest, though, my favorite years of MLB The show have been the ones where power creep was not a thing: aka, the last few years. MLB the Show 23 was still my favorite.
But that’s just my opinion. I’ve been playing since ‘18, so some of you may have more experience than me.
-
@P0pa-Cherry_XBL Probably the first big collection will be the next 99 after the live series collection.

Thanks EZ -
MLB the show has always been better with the power creep, I wasn't super excited for this years game but a number of changes have me seeing MLB 20 style or progress and even MLB 17 style program and progress.

I am in the same boat. Loved 2020, but felt like the last two installments really deviated from what made that game flow so well when it came to content and just overall structure.
As bad as SDS botched 24 early in its cycle which sunk the game for most, their rollout from the ASG through Finest was very good and I hope that carry that momentum into 25.
