… it is never too late … 🙂

I looked up some stats today… the top guys (those who compete in the tourneys and stream on twitch) have about 6 HRs per Game and a team-ERA around 9 … on average while winning 90+% of their games !!!!!
This is crazy and besides their near perfect pci placement (which is really awesome, I do not want to discredit that) … the main cause for those numbers are …these stadiums like Shield Woods, Capital Lange and all the other stadiums that play this way …

If SDS only chooses to change 1 thing, it‘s gotta be something to nerf these really bad stadiums. This is a disgrace to watch (not literally)

@YOSHI24_XBL, can't agree more... I played a game yesterday where I won either 10-9 or 9-8 at Shield Woods (trying to wipe it from my memory) where I hit about 6 lazy HRs and my opponent at least that many. It was stupid; I am not a good hitter, and this shouldn't be happening.

While very frustrating home runs keep people playing. It’s a lot like when a madden year has really good stock defense. While us baseball purists love those 3-2 pitcher duels the average video games doesn’t.

There is Coors or even laughing mountain and then there is Costco, shield woods... Costco almost every hit is a hr

I don't understand how anyone likes Costco unless they're just trying to parallel cards or beat online missions quickly. Because you're going to hit hrs but also give up a million too

I proposed a solution to this nonsense, using two different options.

First option, no more custom created stadiums in coop and competition play modes. It would be simple to code up and implement, and in return all of the so-called rules infringing stadium creation are removed.

Second option, custom created stadiums have to be submitted for a review and validation, with the majority of it being an automatic review of the stadium setup. If a stadium is declined, it cannot be resubmitted. If a stadium creator has several stadiums rejected, then he is banned from submitting future work.

I forgot a very important fact: Those guys play most of their games on LEGEND difficulty … I cannot imagine how the average of HR/ERA is for „very good“ players below HOF… This is crazy.

If MLB The Show wants to be a game resembling the real game just a tiny bit … there has to be action taken. I understand it is a videogame and it is about „having fun“ … but you can have fun with half those numbers.

That is one good step (option 1). I do not like option 2. You can create as many fun stadiums as you want … and use them. The game should prevent those stadiums being used in those online modes they are not suited for.

There should be „fun modes“ … Why not put metal bats into moonshot events for a limited time (I suppose this will happen 🙂 and I do not mind).

But it all starts with SDS … They put out Shield Woods/Capital Lange, … They knew how they would play out for sure.
Therefore this thread is mainly focused on SDS … and not the people creating crazy stadiums and/or using the stuff SDS put in the game in the first place

I think this issue would solve itself if SDS would just use real life minor league stadiums. They have the rights, Why they haven’t done it is beyond me.

Well, they’re going to need to make at least one.

I for one, enjoy a variety of potential outcomes. How do y'all feel about day games at San Francisco? Facing several lefties in white uni's is really bad. Same with Boston.

I am not deeply into that, but if - in real life - that is the way it is … it is okay for me.

But btt … I am not against high elevation. Coors is real … but Coors does not play nearly as awful as those disgraceful stadiums like Shield Woods

Those are the reasons, plus as a somewhat casual player, I can play solo rookie, relax and have a good time knowing my chances of winning are really really good. On the other hand, though, playing on rookie and at Costco got me really lazy. I'm trying to work out of that by playing most games veteran now so I can get a little better before '25 comes in.

Fair point. I am also doing my single player stuff at CostCo, because it is faster …

This thread was meant about online ranked … Just had a game at Shield Woods. Lost against a better player … He had 7 Hits, 6 HRs, 2 real ones … End of story.
The biggest point about the last game: I did not have fun from pitch 1 (I homered on the second pitch), because I knew what was coming. My opponent denied the friendly quit proposal (no wonder about that since he knew how „rewarding“ the stadium is …) …

I come to the assumption that those stadiums cost me about 50-60 ranking points (I came to 895/897 the previous years), since close to everybody north of 800 only plays there

To make my point again: These stadiums are a disgrace for any competitive mode. If I had just 1 wish for 25, it is really the stadiums (maybe @CBrev47_MLBTS listens 😞 )

If there's one thing they need to do it's make the classic stadiums more available for '25. I didn't get the game until PS Plus, but I got only a couple of the classic stadium cards. I waited to buy the rest until last week when the prices dropped. But the classic stadiums should be part of the game from the beginning -- and at low prices or even free. The classic stadiums are an integral part of baseball history. The "nerf stadiums" shouldn't be easier to get.

If you line your lf and rf to cheat towards the gaps that helps make it a little better

Like you would tell your left fielder to shift to the left the whole game and he basically plays left center

True, but I get why, as a DD-thing, they make them unlockables … To make this thing easier for you. In the last few years they were not that expensive at all. There were more stadium-packs to get. Maybe that‘ll change again to make it easier to get (or you gotta use your stubs to buy them earlier).

When I last played in MLBTS 22, the stadiums, especially the minor league ones, were flooded. But still, I think the classic stadiums need to be a part of the game from the beginning. Not to mention adding a few more, like Candlestick and Ebbets Field (Candlestick is available in Stadium Creator).

Please nerf these disgraceful stadiums or do not allow them in competitive modes. Thanks in advance 🙂
