I have seen videos of the Japanese baseball game and the graphics look awesome. I assumed when your company decided to kick ps4 game users to the curb, it meant a very enhanced version. Reading on x, many are not happy stating it looks like the same graphics. So why kill part of your customers if no change?? Makes zero sense

Because there are other differences besides graphics.

Awesome graphics. Poor gameplay. I prefer The Show atm

It makes plenty of sense. People won't change until they're forced to. If dial-up internet, tube tvs, rotary phones and Zack Morris phones were still an option, people would still be using them. They only changed because the industries changed and they were forced to adapt or get left behind. Consoles are the same way. If they were still making games for PS2/PS3, people would be demanding The Show 25 be released on them too. One can never truly evolve until they leave the past behind them.

Did the gameplay trailer say from last years build? In some gameplay trailers they use a previous build and show off the graphics in another trailer.
They don't do this every year but it has happened.

@Redsfan6272_PSN, I'm not sure why people say this... that game looks pretty good until you watch it for a while. It just has a sharper appearance (like the "soap opera effect" with runaway HDR) when not much is happening, but if you watch a gameplay video (there are many) and actually see it in action for more than a brief second or two, it really starts to disappoint.

The swing animations are jerky and unrealistic, and there's a very noticeable hitch (maybe by design, but it's weird) when it transitions from the pitcher/batter screen to defensive play. The defensive play animations are flat out not good, and the player models that people rave about for some reason are stone-faced and unnatural looking close up. And what's going on with the lighting?

People complain a lot, here, about the graphics of MLBTS, and while I agree that there haven't been too many changes from one year to the next (but the hair thing mattered), it's still a very pretty game. I think people get a little too wrapped up in their Strike Zone camera angle and spend too much time staring at batters' crotches, never getting to see the facial expressions and swing animations... they're better than Professional Baseball Spirits. Zoom out a bit and enjoy it.

because ppl invest $500+ in new consoles and want to see the best graphics these machines can produce. It's a legit complaint.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL, wanting to see the envelope pushed on the PS5 and XBox Series X is legitimate enough, though I think people may be overestimating their capabilities and not giving current iterations of the game their due if they think there’s a lot of juice to be squeezed, there.

What isn’t legitimate is propping up what appears to be an inferior game in nearly all aspects to create a false argument that something better already exists. It doesn’t.

I'm more concerned with performance and QoL improvements than graphics. I want the game to play well and enjoy it...because when that happens, you don't really notice the graphics, at least not even close to as much

My first console was the original Pong.

Maybe a person's opinion on graphics depends on their baseline.

I think it’s kind of weird even though I have a ps5, but only weird since it’s gonna be on the switch. The switch is like a ps1 with this game(I own it) and just found it odd to go next gen like that

The player models honestly don't look bad, but the skin textures and face scans look extremely cartoony and outdated. There is no reason why Manny Ramirez and Roger Clemens have better renders in a game from 20 years ago, on the original Xbox and PS2.
