I’m skeptical…it’s still being released on Switch.
I’m hopeful that we’ll see some much needed improvements but don’t get your hopes up with it still being available on Switch

So do you think that Switch basically gets a roster update but current gen sees an “updated” game with better visuals, performance etc?

Only if they create a separate version from the Switch, which I don't consider "Next Gen".
I hope we see some notable upgrades but I am not holding my breath for it. Trailer comes out in a week so I guess we will get our first glimpse then.

The one thing that would clinch it for me is an updated hitting and fielding engine. Not that there was anything wrong with the previous (yes there was) but it would do this game a world of good.

I would honestly be extremely shocked if we get a new hitting engine, pitching engine or fielding engine.

Nope, according to what I read, all consoles will still be cross-platform, including the Switch, which is disappointing.
