I am in the 600’s currently and this morning it was taking longer than usual to find an opponent. Finally matched up & immediately knew I was in trouble lol…He had a record of approx 100-7 with the multiple WS icon. I paused to check the difficulty aa I always do - Legend. This was my first game online on legend this year & by the 3rd inning I was using contact swing exclusively that’s how tiny my pci was!
…I ended up with 3 hits and scored a run - Honestly I did better than I thought I would…My opponent however had ZERO problem squaring up, laying off, ect - Dude was SO GOOD it was surreal. Didn’t matter what I threw at him, There was no fooling him. And his entire team was hitting around.500. I ended up quitting in the 8th inning when my starter got tired and lost 10-2. No need to waste the pen. But yeah, It’s amazing how good some people’s hand/eye coordination and reflexes are, Just incredible.He ended up being ranked like 990 lol

Yep, some of those guys make it look easy. They have mastered the most important part(s) of this game, which is to:- Quickly recognize any pitch (within .13 seconds from Pitcher's release),
- Control the Left Analog Stick with (near perfect) precision, and to
- Have impeccable timing with each swing of the bat.
Those things are extremely difficult to do consistently, especially with online latency... but some are good enough to overcome that aspect.

Unlike those (very capable) users, my approach is just to consume enough caffeine in order to catch up with those warping fastballs over the plate, while trying to lay off everything else... That basically keeps me above .500.

It also depends on your input onto the pitch . The same pitch on the same spot could be a Homer or a routine fly ball depending if you get a perfect input , good or early etc.

This^ . Many forget that the game rewards pitches that are perfect as well as pci placement. Same as throws down to second thongs a steal. Get it perfect and the game will usually reward you with an out. Miss slightly and the runner just beats the tag.

To be able to swing at strikes and not get fooled by off speed adds another layer of expertise.I do not have that!!
