CPU Gameplay

Does anyone else think the amount of super dotting, taking pitches just off the plate, diving catches, line outs, and double plays while playing against the CPU even on lower difficulties is just a tad bit crazy? I’m not in any way saying it’s hard, just that when looking to get in a quick game after a long day of work and mash, it can feel extremely “tedious”. AI is always a [censored] shoot but the way this game plays at times can feel really exhausting and unrewarding.

@TripleH-4481_PSN Yea, I've run into this a few times. CPU gets really aggressive at the plate, bunting, drag bunting, base stealing with a player who shouldn't even be stealing, pitchers paint like Maddux, and get those borderline calls when the previous inning you dotted the same line for a ball. The infield in, the intentional walks, outfield all throw like Rick Ankiel...lol. Yep, keeps you on your toes some games...all for a free agent or silver bat, LOL.

Cpu was tired of getting clobbered 52-0 on rookie so it decided to fight back against an overpowered lineup of hall of famers, can you blame it.

For me, CPU is relaxing. I haven't seen much aggressiveness. (I usually play veteran or rookie.) But I'm ok with a little competition.

I agree with you . I hate the inconsistency of hitting when you hit the ball on the barrel of the bat and you get a real nice hit like you should . But other times when you hit the ball on same spot I get a fly ball to the infield or short flyball to the short part of the outfield. I know I’m not going to get a hit every time & that’s cool . I know the ball will be hit right to the players too , I see that & that’s ok . It just seems inconsistent. It seems like the CPU’s all have 99 speed . You can hit a nice hard hit ball in the gaps of the outfield .and it never fails , a outfielder with slow to average speed chases the ball down before getting to the fence, holding a good to average speed guy to a single . Happens a lot to me . Also not good when an infielder dives for the ball & turns a double play on runners with good to average speed .

Yes, for the most part it’s still fun and relatively easy but sometimes it just makes me shake my head. The gold glove defense, Maddux like dotting and nibbling just off the plate, Gwynn like plate discipline, and random no doubt home run by a guy with 40 power on a decently placed pitch are all just plain weird. Consistently inconsistent is the best way I can sum up the overall gameplay.
