Growing List of Deserving Finest Players Without A Card

Alec Burleson and Masyn WInn

It seems like SDS went back to what they were doing in the past (before MLB 23) and by that I mean they will not give Finest card to the most deserving player, like for example Ohtani for Dodgers, but they will give it to the most deserving player that doesn't have endgame card yet, which is great decision. The only exception seems to be Judge but that's probably because all Yankees players have 99 card already because of their playoff run. I really really hope those collection/BR/ranked season rewards will not be players like Lindor, Ohtani, Skenes etc. It was terrible last year having 4 endgame Trouts, 4 Ohtanis, 3 Realmutos and so on
-
100% disagree. The collection is called "Finest" not "Above Average". You give the Finest cards to the best players. Period.
If anything, SDS could be better about giving out 99s too early for likely Finest guys.
But I can't at all agree with giving out Finest cards to mediocre players.
The word finest is dictionary defined as "the best example of its type". There were probably 20 players announced yesterday that are not the best on their team.

@P0pa Cherry
I was also hoping for Burnes -

I want Corbin Burnes' card from last year.
Burnes isn't in Milwaukee anymore so you can't get that card
-
@sbchamps17_NSW they bring back past cards all the time.
-
I guess main point of our disagreement is that I don't care at all about the name of collection, I want variety and I don't want to grind for the same players all over again. Will you really get excited about worse Ohtani card than his milestone and same Lindor card with +1 speed over his playoff card?

Not finest, it'll have to be retro finest but he won't get that because he's still playing
-
there are no catchers....crazy

Not necessarily true. Look at Camilo Duval finest card released in season 3 or the Bo Bichette headliner. Both of those were 2023 finest cards. Why can’t we have a Burnes as well?

Trout has a Retro Finest.

They could have given it to Luis Gil since he just won ROTY. Highest card he has is a 97
-
And Jazz only has a 98.
So this is exactly my point. If SDS had proven they consciously stay away from multiple 99s, then fine.
But Judge has 3 99s and other players have 2, so all bets are off. So then I say if a guy clearly deserves the Finest but already has a 99, then too bad. They should still get it.
I just hate the inconsistency.

And then people will complain about having to wait til the end of the year to get a 99 Judge, Ohtani, Betts, Soto, Trout etc

True.

Aaron Loup has a 2021 Finest card with the Mets but he played for the Angels after 2021.
Retro finest are used in situations where sds didn’t issue a finest card in that year. Like the Robbie Ray 2021 retro finest card. A newly created finest card based on Ray’s 2021 season. Corbin Burnes has a finest card from last year they would not need to create a retro finest for his 2023 finest. -
To all of you guys that said to be patient, stop complaining, and many of these cards would be coming out soon - where you all at now?
No new collection rewards beyond 35 Finest, no new programs, no new BR, Ranked, or Event. No new cards in packs.
Complete and utter laziness and/or incompetence.
PS Judge can get 3 99s but Sale and Skubal only 1. Duran 1. Gunnar 1. Raleigh 0. Elly Freaking De La Cruz 0!!
