You have a good point. They already pay for the guys they use for captains, and they can do the same thing.

Getting captains early makes sense to me. That’s when they are most usable. -
@brainfreeze442_PSN Someone had the idea a few days ago that the team captains should have been the first team affinity and I like that idea.

I'm fine with either but coach idea sounds better to free up the roster spot.
I still like the pitcher / batter captain combo cause you can spin it a bit and it's not just a blank slate of buffs.
Like I want to see more bunting boosts, fielding boosts, speed boosts, etc. I feel like with only one coach or player to do the boosting you would need a LOT of cards with variety to meet that request. Right now you can mix and match your boosts and make some diversity. -

I also had a thought as to how they could add a bit more prestige to legends, and a way to make lower value ones early in the season still worthwhile
For instance the annual Gary Carter that is going to fight with the annual Piazza (and future Alvarez if he learns to hit): Why not for example let Carter, if you have collected him (not necessarily in the lineup), give +10 to any met catcher's arm rating? Piazza could boost power. Rickey Henderson could boost steal if they actually give him a met card (as he actually did for Roger Cedeno)
Not every legend needs this, but program cappers perhaps could get more universal boosts. It would be a way to make that Bryant suck less
There would have to be some limitations to avoid everyone being 125s across the board, but it could breathe some life into the stale legends.
