This is my first year playing The Show. It has been real struggle trying to get decent at the game. I started out by getting into the diamond dynasty and playing the conquest, showdown, and moments. I still haven't been able to complete the Tebow conquest, but I am close. Do you think it would be better for me to get into MTO to improve on my skills before I start playing some online games or what game mode should I get into to help me get better??

MTO is definitely a good place to start. Pick a good team which also gets you a decent FOTF player (Yankees with Gleybar Torres for example) and set difficulty to dynamic (starting from veteran). Try to be patient and look for 1 pitch or area (while on less than 2 strikes). Fastball up and in? Let them go, you'll only hit pop ups unless you are on them.

As for the conquest boards, the first few turns are all about getting fans. So, in the first 2 teams conquer empty spots only and steal fans while playing on a difficulty that is challenging but winnable. Once all the empty spots on the board are taken you should get you should get plenty of reinforcements per turn. Put them all in 1 spot and start conquering their tiles 1 by 1 (simulating all the games). Don't worry about them conquering a few tiles back. On the Tebow board (depending on the simulation) you can acquire all non-stonghold tiles around turn 6. Then, load all your fans on one tile next to the stronghold and attack. You can even play the game on Rookie difficulty if you like.

One way I got to improve when I first picked up the game was by playing 'play now' games on higher difficulties (Hall of fame) and just look at how the pitcher throws for an inning or 2. Don't swing, but try to see how pitches move and try to predict what is coming. Then I'd reload the game on a slightly lower difficulty and try to compete. This way you'll learn quickly how everything moves, what your favorite pitches to hit are and which pitches you should lay off.
    Good luck!

This. But DONT do Dynamic setting. If you luck out and do good, it jumps you straight up to Legend difficulty.

Once there, if you lose you dont get aa many rewards and if you manually switch to a lower difficulty, it locks you in at Beginner rewards.

    I would do Veteran difficulty.

@Psycho__Kinetic I know that dynamic tends to increase in difficulty quite rapidly, but I do think it's a good way to learn the game. If you're currently not good enough to beat conquest, then you're not going to go to legend that fast. That only really happens if you succeed in like 85%+ of your missions. Also, I found that playing on legend through the dynamic difficulty (which is above my skill level) has actually helped me in online and offline (all-star) games.

    Valid points.

Awesome! Thank you for the feedback. Looks like I'll be playing some MTO tonight. Any other teams that you recommend me playing with starting out besides the Yankees? I will also try the 'Play now', I think that this will help me out quite a bit. Those sliders are hard for me to pick up on haha.

I'd say pick any top-tire team with a good FOTF player from the team affinity program. Cleveland (with Carlos Santana) would also work. If you're willing to go with 'contender' tire (a bit more difficult) I've had a blast with the Rays. They already have pretty good pitching so in a lot of moments you will either be tied or ahead by a couple of runs.

Sliders are my nemesis too, especially if the pitcher also has a hard fastball.

@HopDevvil814 I just thought of one more thing: Look for a hitting camera you like. I play on Offset zoom, but many players prefer a camera that makes the strikezone even bigger (so the camera is closer to home plate). If I remember correctly, Koogs (who's a better player than people give him credit for) plays on 'Strike Zone'.

I’m stuck on the “not being able to complete the Tebow map”. I hope you are not playing against every conquest square? You should only be playing against the strongholds, and simulating every thing else. There are some good YouTube videos to show you the best way to progress through a conquest map.

Ahhh that's my problem. I've been trying to play every game. I just figured if I played every game then I would become a better player. But this is a slow process haha.

Nah dude, only play the strongholds and steal the amount of fans it requires. I don't remember how many, probably 2 mil. Sim the rest.

If you want to play more you can always replay the big USA map to get another 10-pack bundle. That's what I do for daily missions and offline grinds.

This will help me out a bunch! I guess there is quite a learning curve for this game. I'll try both of these methods out.
