I’d say showdown is the way, play all the moments out and try to gain runs, if facing a RHP in the final showdown as with AL east, be sure to always draft good left handed hitters so you can stack them in the final and take as many pitches as you possibly can. If you can train yourself not to swing until you have two strikes or the pitch is down the middle, your success rate will rise. You have to accept that the cpu will cheese you and you won’t win every time, but if you beat the first showdown consistently, you’ll also make stubs even if you’re failing. You can’t just rush through the show downs, you have to be patient and invest some time and effort to succeed consistently.
In terms of exchanges, you’re looking at 7-10k for each 50000 point exchange minimum and you’d need to do it 5 times. If you don’t mind wasting stubs on unsellable cards that will be surpassed in a few weeks and probably not in your line up, it’s the fastest way. I’d avoid that though if possible, these FOTF cards look good now, but they’re not end game and won’t look so appealing in time.

MTO on Veteran gets you 52 TA points. Takes about 5 hours. I really like the game mode, so it's a fun way to get them done.

    MTO I reckon.
I've spent hours and hours and hours and then some more hours on Showdowns and have only completed two. If I used that time on just MTOs, I'd be far better off.
The temptation for Showdown is still there however. Get a little luck, get on a run; then those TA vouchers are so tempting.

MTO on veteran. Literally just try to win as many moments doesn’t have to be all for 52 points. You only need 50 for the FOTF player but it’s real easy. It does take some time (5-6 hrs) non-stop but the mode is easy. Also take advantage of trades in MTO. Go after hitters and have at least 1-2 relief pitchers. After that it’s a walk in the park

If you are willing to spend some stubs, the exchanges arent bad. For 10-15k you can do the exchanges to get the players. Just have to find the right cards

This. I've given up on showdowns. I have been taking the affinities I already have some points for either through team collection or playing with players. The money cards seemed to be finding a 78 or 79 silver card. I try and and put in buy orders for under 300 for them. About 13 or so will get you the exchange points. You also get 2000 stubs back at 20 or 25 team affinity points.

I would say veteran MTO is better and cheaper, as the chances of smashing a controller are greatly reduced compared to showdown.

Yea, for less frustration I'd go with MTO. I usually play an hour or 3 most nights to unwind from the day. Did the Yankees in about 4.5 hours over a few nights. On veteran, boom 52 affinity points and a FOTF card. Started the cubs, but got caught up in 2nd inning missions lol.

Yup go with MTO for all your FOTF card needs. 5-6 hrs seems to be the norm for completion and its fun while you get some XP and stubs. I have also given up trying to complete showdowns even if I did the first inning one by pure luck. Always trade for players and it gives you a good idea what players to go for that you would feel comfortable using. I just got Pete Alonso in a trade for prospects in my SD MTO and tbh I don't really like his stance or swing so I wont be getting him for DD unless for collections.

Cheers guys - looks like I will give MTO a go. I assume that I don't need to play all the way through if I don't need the full 50+ points (ie. only need 20 for the Jays).

No. if you win most of the challenges, which start in 6th or 7th then you'll get max pts, 11 at AS break then another 11 at end of season.

It's already been said to death, but MTO for sure and it's not even close. The time it takes you to grind innings for 5 points you'll be 1/4 of the way to over 50. Obviously Showdown isn't nearly as bad but I found it very enjoyable to play through MTO with multiple teams.
