@c_lawson3_PSN Basketball and baseball are very different sports. Getting a hit off bad timing and or weak contact in baseball happens all the time. A poor release on a shot in basketball doesn’t go in. Why is this always so difficult for people to understand? A realistic baseball game is always going to be frustrating.

They actually go in, it’s just very rare. Yeah, I agree with both of you. There has to be bad hits because that’s how baseball works but I believe it happens more often than it should, considering we’re talking about a videogame.
IMO, SDS need to find a good balance.

Why is it so difficult for YOU to understand that it's a video game with input reactions from a [censored] controller not a wooden baseball bat??
Don't have meters and scales to your timing and input if they don't mean [censored] and RNG is the ruling factor. There's literally no reason in a video game to have that kind of inconsistent input and reactions. Don't have meters with colors to indicate how well you do it they don't reflect how well you do. It's the dumbest VIDEO game program ever. If you're argument is "tHaTS jUSt bASeBALl!" You need to hold that same argument for everything else in the game such as 165-0 win loss records, 700+ batting averages, 15+ runs a game with 10 homeruns a again, etc. You can't hold that stupid [censored] argument of realism while blatantly ignoring everything else that's ABSOLUTELY not "just baseball".

@AdeptOfMemory_PSN I never said the game as a whole was realistic. The aspect of the game we’re talking about though, bad input resulting in hits, is realistic. I don’t think anyone is saying the hitting engine is perfect. It absolutely needs work and realism is the ideal. RNG isn’t the ruling factor. That’s just how bad players excuse their poor performance. You proved this by pointing out there are players out there with unbelievable records. That wouldn’t happen if RNG ruled.
-
The elite players simply overcome the abundance of RNG. The average player can’t do this so it makes sense to feel frustrated.
-
Why have a meter that tells you you threw a perfect pitch only to have the umpire call it a ball? Or when it finally does clip the strike zone it's a perfect perfect 487 foot smack against you? The RNG in that battle becomes the best stats in the cards being used. The debate then shifts to attributes, input, and who simply has the best card with the most perfect PCI placement. You're right RNG isn't the ruling factor, it's the best card wins.
Are you going to brush off the 165-0 records with .700+ batting averages and not use "THatS jUsT bASebAlL" and only when it'd convenient for you?
The game can't be 50% realism when 100% of the top players are not winning due to realistic gameplay. They are winning to VERY unrealistic gameplay.

@TripleH-4481_PSN I’m not saying there isn’t any RNG. I’m saying the game isn’t ruled by RNG as was suggested and evidenced by those players. If it was “ruled by RNG” those players would not be able to overcome it.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN have you ever played D&D? Do you know what RNG is?
Have you ever played any other deck building game? -
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN Well, a perfect pitch in terms of input doesn’t go exactly where you try to put it because there are other factors like that cards attributes, stamina and confidence. That’s working as designed. I throw plenty of pitches in the zone that don’t get touched. Learn how to pitch.
I never suggested those outrageous records were realistic. I simply showed how your point about them proved my point, that RNG does not rule. Even if the hitting engine were perfected, the top players would still dominate similarly. There’s not much you can do about that in a video game. There’s also cheaters, but that’s a different topic. The best answer, is a more realistic hitting engine, which I think everyone wants.
