I consider myself an average player at best. I can accept the fact that I'll never compete on HoF level and I'm pretty sucky at hitting. With all that considered I thought I had a good strategy when it came to the final showdown. I'd work the counts and get the pitcher (i think its newhouser) exhausted, increasing my chances of getting a hit. We can all accept its a legit baseball strategy. Well not so much in showdown. With 108 total pitches throw, he still had half energy. No one has that kind of stamina. I don't mind getting bested, but this is flat out cheating. If SDS wants to give us these challenges, at least be up front about it.

It was pitch 135 before Feller started to tire - you have to keep in mind that those guys pitched like that back then, there was no pitch counts or inning limits and they got the ball every 3-4 days. (I still won, just took longer)

They also didn't throw all out every pitch like most guys now. A large portion of the time pitches were just thrown to make the hitter hit it to his defense. Which now it's all about home runs and strikeouts.

Even if you exhaust their energy they still throw gas on the black.

Feller is the guy I cant stand to face cause he throws 102 but then will throw that 70 mph curve and I swing every time.

    THIS !!!!!
I had Giles at Zero energy and Zero confidence and the dude was still throwing gas on the black.
Absolute BB's on the edges for strikes.

What is the point of driving the pitch count up if they are still dotting the strike zone?

It makes your PCI larger so easier for you to win essentially.

Dont confuse passiveness with patience. You still need to hit the meat pitches. Trying to drain stamina helps, but the most effective way to win is damaging confidence.
