Should I switch to Xbox?
-
I’m currently on PS5 and I’m also getting up there in age. I’ll be 35 next month. I’ve mainly heard streamers complaining about how the input lag is terrible on PS5 and I have a real hard time catching up on a higher difficulty like Hof. Will I have better luck on Xbox or will the difference not be that much?

Series x here. Also your age . Lg Oled 65’ Tv and series X and I still get vertical screen tear and glitchy screen transfers when batting from bat to field view. Input delay is based off of server and opponents connection for me. Cant comment on ps5

I’m almost twice your age (if you were 32, it would be twice) and have both consoles. I don’t see a difference between them, except for the controller. I like the feel of the Xbox controller (PowerA) more. It fits in my hand better, and the sticks are stiffer.
What made the difference for me was getting an oled tv (42”).
I hope that helps.

If you can’t catch up to a FB on HOF on ps5 switching to an Xbox isn’t going to miraculously change that
Xbox performs slightly better but it’s for people that are already good that are looking to get a slight edge
35 isn’t old either lol… I’m sure you’re problem is your just not practicing. Play nothing but casual online games on HOF difficulty. Do that until you feel comfortable and get adjusted to the pitch speed
That’s going to make you better at hitting outlier fastballs on HOf… and Xbox isn’t going to magically do that
And yes I have both ps5 and Xbox X
And I’m not sure if you have a monitor or not but that’s also needed

I play on a monitor. Maybe my timing just gets messed up going from grinding on rookie and veteran straight to playing on hall of fame. I definitely don’t practice as much as I used to. Also usually don’t play ranked after I complete the program.

Never play that way… playing on rookie/veteran and then going to HOF is doing a disservice
I start by playing at least 2 casual games on HOF and then I go into ranked or grinding
It’s much easier to do the harder difficulty first and then go play on the lower difficulty… and it makes the lower difficulty much easier
And trust me the more HOf games you play online(casual) you’ll get used to the speed in no time
But don’t play rookie first and then try HOf after bc it’s gonna seem super difficult

Up there in age (35) had me rofl

@yankblan_PSN ikr? Got me feeling like a fossil

I’m 36 and I hit booombsssss… I’m JK, I only hit well when I get 8 hours of sleep at night, which does not happen very often.

I never thought I'd see the day when a 35 yr old would claim to be close to care facility age. At 44, I know my eye sight has gotten worse naturally as I've aged, but I'll be damned if I'm calling up my 40 yr old sister to tell her to start making facility arrangements for me.
Maybe next year...after I've taken care of my colonoscopy and prostate exams.

I'm 60 and have had both of those.
What were we talking about @Imbeater_MLBTS ? Oh right, Xbox. I switched last summer. I can't say that I've seen a huge difference, but my 60-year-old eyes give a slight edge to the Xbox. The game feels smoother to me.
Like @Blind_Bleeder_PSN said, I like the Xbox controller once I got used to the left stick being in a different spot. For reference, I play on a Gigabyte monitor, use a Power A controller, and I play some online (I'm in the 600 range in RS, certainly not WS caliber).

I'm 38 and I can probably make world series If I practice a lot more but right now I'm trying to move and find a job. I made world series consistently over the years but you have to practice a lot to do it. I think pitching_rebel is close to our age and he is a top player Still. It just like anything else in our life's You got to practice that is all to it no short cuts.

Update: I made the switch and wow is the difference amazing. I can an actually hit sinkers that are inside now. It’s hard to explain but it feels like you have more time to differentiate between pitches and swinging feels really quick. When playing on PS5 I had to like try and predict when they were throwing an inside sinker and practically swing when it was half way to the plate.
Pitching though isn’t good. Maybe a different controller would help that. I’m just using the stock one.
I decided to make the switch after looking at the game pass.
