Lower all the hitting sliders for both you and the CPU. I might keep the CPU hitting 1 click higher. You wrote that your record is 101-28, that is not even close to being true to life.
My record right now is like 65-45 and I am still lowering my hitting because my team BA is still in the high .280's.
I have pitching on Legend and got the sliders set where no every pitch are strikes. I am having a lot of 3-2 counts. At times I cannot even throw a strike when that code kicks in that makes you throw balls after balls.
It is a constant battle to balance out the sliders. I have found just one click isn't really doing that much, three or 4 does some.
Lower the hitting sliders to maybe 2 and increase the pitchers ability to NOT throw strikes all the time. This in iteself will help you have a balanced game and not be 101-28. To me that is super boring and not reflecting anything close to being true to life. -
Oh, and as far as you not hitting.there are times many players goes into a slump and nothing you can do but play through those slumps. I find myself having fun during those slumps, it makes me try out new lineups and where they will bat in that lineup.
It is pretty easy if you just have a player or two in a slump but you do get everyone in that funk at times which is something I like.
Right now I can pretty much destroy teams like Oakland but have terrible success against the Yankees. -

Right now I can pretty much destroy teams like Oakland but have terrible success against the Yankees.I increased the slider for solid hits and I wanna say power to 8/10. I think I increased contact to 6/10. May have changed one more slider too.
I think that’s going to help, but I may have to change the sliders more too. The season was actually pretty fun for a while (when I was doing really well offensively), but that changed a lot. My team ERA is roughly 1.58 (very unrealistic). My batting average is about .268 and OBP is about .340. Yet I’m only 16th in runs scored and last in home runs despite playing as a team that has long been a great home run hitting team in real life, the Dodgers.
Hopefully it helps. I play to win. But I also play to win a certain way and to put up good offensive numbers as a team and with the top players. Having action, hard hit balls, and bombs is definitely a lot more exciting than constantly struggling to score and having both yourself and the CPU constantly making weak contact or striking out. -
It's because you're using Timing. There's going to be more RNG involved with that hitting interface because there is a hidden penalty attributed to it. That's the trade off for just being able to essentially play one handed and hit a button at given time. Same goes for pitching...The Classic Pitching interface is less forgiving with your pitch placement (where the pitch ends up) as say using Analog or PPP.
-
Yeah, I’ve definitely noticed that. Also, what does RNG stand for? I’ve seen that mentioned on this site but have not heard for sure what it stands for.

@knc104pcknc_PSN Random Number Generator
-
Is that why one could get the exact same pitch in the exact same location and make very good timing twice and hit a 107 mph homer one time and an 85 mph lazy flyball the other time?
-
@knc104pcknc_PSN Yes That is Correct
-
Makes sense. The randomness with timing hitting is something I’ve been aware of for a while now, but I just wasn’t sure about what RNG meant. I’ve always used timing just since that’s what I’ve been most comfortable with, but one day I may really have to try to get good at zone hitting.
