There are currently twice as many PS4s as PS5s, and more than twice as many XBox Ones as XBox X/Ss. There's no way you throw away 2/3rds of your potential audience for a niche game. And more than that, if the Switch can't run it. Realistically, how many people with a PS5 that don't currently own MLBTS would say "Wow, I've never been a fan of baseball games, but this gameplay is amazing. I'll get it right now." I mean what, 100? 1000? And you lose the games you're selling to 120 million PS4s?
Sorry, but new gen MLBTS is a pipe dream. Not to mention that they probably canned most of the people that could actually code it back in March.
Very good points. This being the case, I have little to no faith in seeing any improvements or innovation come next February
You and me both. I think the game is what it is.

Games are more successful when they can be played across not just all main stream consoles but Windows, Linux, and holds back slight vomit MAC. It doesn't need to be "next gen" to even be a quality game on top of that success. Fortnite, Minecraft, etc are prime examples. They have versions and graphic modifications the user can do to better synchronize with their own system. The devs know how to properly optimize for consoles.

How about like NBA 2K. They release a current gen version PS5, XBOX X and last gen version.

Yes and MLB ranks like 42nd on the PS4 and 36th on Xbox One last gen isn’t playing this game
-
I like that the fanboys are declaring how great the CFB game is or game of the year without actually playing it yet. The Show just needs to figure out how to get out of their rut. Their game does feel like a yearly sports game released at the end of a consoles life and just regurgitating the same game with little to no improvements except for a roster update
-
I doubt sds is concerned about the ncaa football game, the market will be smaller for that game I’m guessing, pretty sure outside of the United States not that many people care about ncaa football.

I don't know how many gamers that corresponds to, but it's still only half the equation. Where are the incremental sales on the PS5 coming from? How many fans of baseball games out there are not currently buying The Show, and waiting for it to be a current gen exclusive? Fewer than the folks playing on PS4, I'd guess.
But maybe I'm wrong. That's ok, too. I'm fine with playing forever programs and Franchise on the games I've got. Especially after this year.

PS5 and Xbox series X are current gen..

How am I an EA “fanboy”? Where did I say it would be game of the year? Have you watched any gameplay footage or read any details about the game modes in EAs campus huddles? [censored] comment

From the previews it does look pretty good.
Nobody knows much, as far as I have seen, about NCAA's Ultimate Team mode. Essentially most people here seem to be comparing NCAA's Dynasty (franchise) mode to MLB's Diamond Dynasty. It will be interesting to see how much of a cash grab that games Ultimate Team mode will be.
I will admit that NCAAs dynasty mode seems pretty cool with a deep amount of options and gameplay.

I have no interest in Ultimate Team and will solely play Dynasty and RTG which both look to be fantastic. They contain depth and immersion that SDS hasn’t come close to providing

Football is a much more popular sport here in the US over baseball (even though I think baseball is the greatest sport). The market for NCAA 25 is undoubtedly larger than the market for The Show…domestic or international

I understand that and if I decide to try NCAA I will try that mode also. Will it blow away MLB's franchise mode? Most likely.
I am just saying that comparing one game's franchise mode against another game's ultimate team mode is not an apples to apples comparison.

Although I posted this in the DD section of the forum, my point of this post was not to compare solely DD to Dynasty
The point im making is that if you compare The Show 24, to what we’re about to get with NCAA 25, it’s evident that SDS heavily lacks innovation and creativeness which is shown in all game modes and content within TS 24

None of that is relevant I would imagine the bump from a true next gen title would be higher than 40th on last gen by a large margin tbh. At 40th you’re getting beat out by Madden titles 2 years old and goat simulator
