So ratings in this game go up to 125 at the highest. After digging into fielding ratings i noticed that only 4 players have a 95 or higher fielding rating(betts ,bader, matt chapman and simmons all of which have the soft hands and quick reflexes quirks} and only a total of 19 that have 90 or above(5 0f which are gold tier or below). Which is still 25 to 30 points lower then the highest it can be. I havent found a player yet under 90 fielding that has the soft hands quirk. Maybe this is just coincidence or a way to make great defensive players matter in lineups but that disparity is pretty glaring i think

Mookie let’s balls hit him in the head too, it’s just glitched how the fielders enter the animation

Sds has programmed in ideal routes to balls, sometimes if you take a wierd route the game will warp you into the route it wants you to take. A couple days ago I was going to make a catch at the fence and the game warped me into a position to take the carom instead.

I'm almost sure this scripting has something to do with it.

I am neither agreeing or disputing any weird glitches or instances people have experienced with fielding. All i am doing is pointing out the facts of the rating disparity. Most people are choosing hitting over fielding when making their lineups....if the max is 125 that means most players are at least 40 or 50 points below the fielding max. The ones that are rated the highest arent the best hitters so most ppl dont put them in their lineups

The best fielders in the game are missing the ball completely for me.... mantle , mookie, Gwynn , arenado , alomar - it’s not a rating thing. Sheffield dosent miss anymore balls than judge or mantle or any of the other elite fielders, so stacking a team w elite D (when it comes to fly balls) is almost irrelevant which sucks

Only hitting stats go up to 125. Fielding and speed stats max out at 99

Last year it was all about lineouts and people complained. SDS fixed that issue this year by not having defensive reactions. Also having problems with infield pop ups recently.

Fielding only goes up to 99, same with arm stats and reaction, that's not it.

This is certainly what I experience a lot. I always try to make the fielder take a "human" looking route instead of jerking around and turning your head at the last second like the game seemingly encourages. This gets me royally [censored] a lot with how the game plays right now, where even if I do correct he's already doing his own stupid moves and then completely misses the ball.
