Which All Star cards are you looking forward to using?

Yeah, what's up with that this year? Usually have the participants by June 30 if not 4th of July weekend, this year we are a week away and still have 3 spots left(unless they filled today,I haven't checked)

@Teak2112_MLBTS actually, the only reason Alonso is in the ASG is because he was a commissioner's pick, and that's because he said he wouldn't do the HRD if he wasn't an all-star. Definitely think Walker deserved a slot over him, but they needed him in the derby.
Walker probably would not have gotten that spot anyway. Alonso is the Mets only representative so without him they would choose another Met. So I think he is the reason Lindor or Nimmo are not there.
I think I read somewhere that all 6 of the commissioner's picks in the NL had to be used to make sure every team was represented. Ah, here is the quote from USA Today
MLB’s six NL selections all were used to assure that every team was represented with the fans and players not selecting anyone from the Mets, Giants, Cardinals, Cubs, Marlins or Nationals.
So blame the fans and the players who did not vote for him.

Harper and trea and actually every Phillies player that has a card

They really need a better system.
If he doesnt get in as a replacement this is the second time in 3 years Nimmo heads into the break as a top 3 fWAR in OF and doesnt make the team.

I'm not sure what that better system is though.
Fan vote has been around since I was a kid and they passed out punch out ballots at the games.
The players vote on the Subs and while you would think they would know who is doing well, they also fall victim to the voting for the bigger name.
The the league is pretty handcuffed at that point in order to make sure every team is represented.
Sure, they could go strictly by stats but then they would have a viewership problem. People will tune in to see Harper, Ohtani, Freeman, etc more than they would for Nimmo and Brice Turang
-
Altuve, since they totally discredited his LS and keep dropping him despite the fact he has been ripping. Astros havent had too many bright spots this year so far.

For me its Christian Walker and Brandon Nimmo
As Mets fans we will be getting two Alonso cards instead of a card which could be fun in Nimmo or Lindor

You know who you have to blame for that?
Pete Alonso.
He said he would not participate in the HR derby unless he made the all-star team. So MLB, desperate to get somebody notable in the HR derby after multiple big names declined, caved and added him. He could have chosen to participate in the HR derby without being part of the team, which would have given one of his Mets teammates a chance to make the team.

Absolutely and now Boras can say oh look he was an all star again even though doesn’t deserve it this season

Honestly if this is true the mets should trade him asap. That cant be good for the clubhouse
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS who would want him
-
It depends on the pitching captain who will upgrade all ASG/HRD/All-Star cards that coincide with the hitting captain. I think they will do something to boost these cards even more.
-
Yeah, but well within his rights. Who wants to fly to a All-Star game to be in yet another HRD, but not be an All-Star? I would rather spend time with friends and family in that case too.
-
If they want to 'make things right' they'll put Skenes in as a card that you can earn via the program.
And I mean like a final program card like the Egg Hunt Yelich.
Not as part of the collection or part of BR/Events.

Because a million dollar prize for winning is not incentive enough?
But yes, he is within his rights.
