I agree that it is not Pay to Win

But there is little argument that this year is the most aggressive monetization push that the game has ever seen.

Yeah I don't like all the packs this year either, but it's definitely not pay to win either. You can still easily compete with the free cards available.

They are now also pushing heavily events, which is the sweaty mode most dependant on what cards you have in your collection.

Three events in rapid fire after each other, yet nothing for offline players. SDS has lost their way. And lost me as a player.

Me too. I redownloaded MLB 21, made a new account and restarted DD.

agree with that 100%. None of the cards made my S2-team any better. Unfortunately Yordan went down

Honestly, I’m not overly concerned with the pay for packs, I got a few lucky pulls and made about 100K stubs but it usually goes the other way.

What worries me is the awful content. There is nothing to do. The retro all Star game program was awful. I don’t even think Chris Devenski’s mom would want an 89 All Star card of his on her roster.

TA 2.2 just got pushed back a week. I guess it’s a good excuse to go live my life .

I'm kind of fascinated by this. How on earth could they be behind schedule? It's not like they're spending any time on content.

This. If the content was plentiful like last year I wouldn't care about the packs.

In their defense, they are probably waiting on all star selections. Cant make a Mets all star card until you know who the actual all star is. Severino? JD? Lindor? Nimmo? who knows.

@Skarmaen_MLBTS Maybe they saw the numbers, and nobody is completing them as quickly? I know I haven't. I haven't seen any cards to make me want to rush in and complete the task this season.

Ah yeah, that makes sense. I guess I assumed they'd be using retro AS cards again like last year.

It’s not pay to win. Sorry I agree the format of highest rated cards in buyable packs is dumb. However you still have to play the game and there are a ton of free cards that are better than the ones that you have to get through the shop. I’ve known players who spend literally thousands of dollars on this game that I can beat with an all gold team. Player skill matters, the cards help but don’t make you better at the game.

I don’t really think it’s pay to win that’s just what I thought of for the title in the 3 seconds. I’d just say I miss there being programs where you could get per se the best card in the game. It would be fun to grind to get that card. Aren’t really any like that anymore because they’re in packs

It's taking them and extra week to create your missing Alomar card from 2021 @Ericulous1_PSN

They’ve alienated at least half their player base with their tonedeaf bonehead moves this year. Aside from RTTS I’ve actually gone back to NHL for it’s franchise mode largely.
