I guarantee that thousands and thousands are playing ranked with their Wildcards.
I'd agree with BJDUBBYAH in that you probably did not create a new S2 squad and instead simply tried to modify one of you S1 squads, which does not work because it is still flagged as a season 1 squad.

Have you tried taking a squad into Ranked with no Wild Card? -

We had a similar issue last year, the workaround was to create a new squad instead of adjusting your existing one to be eligible for season 2.
Try that to see if you can get in
