Wildcard not working

Everytime I click on a player to insert in my lineup as the wildcard, the screen comes up very quick and backs out, like an error that won’t let me put him in. Yes I’ve checked to see if anyone else was in, and yes I started at the 60k xp to have it unlocked. Any suggestions?

Have you tried hitting the R2 button when you select a card to sub, to go to wild cards?

Yes. Trying to put in Mookie. It just backs out super quick everytime.
