Constant check swings

Just played an opponent who was able to check swing almost every single pitch. Anything I threw out of the zone he was somehow able to check. I got a few strike out from him checking in the zone, but he was able to stay in at bats and hit a lot of homers.
Is check swinging the new “foul ball.” Is this an Imbalance in the game, or was my opponent just extremely gifted in this skill?

I know power swinging makes it almost impossible to check swing. Maybe he was using contact swing a lot for easier check swings?

I check swing a lot; I use analog input, and I press the stick up oh-so-gently to start my timing… that often looks like a stutter from the batter, and sometimes checks if I go slightly harder if the pitch looks good initially.
I don’t think it gives an advantage; if your opponent used analog hitting, it may just have been part of his timing mechanism.
