What are the odds that SDS simply eliminates card restrictions a few weeks into season 2? It could be a real indication of the future of seasons in DD.
Never going to happen

I wish, but most likely no. As time goes on, there may be some user friendly adjustments though. I can see them continuing to tinker with the XP Reward path and WC options. -
Only way they would forgo it would be for the next game. I mean if like 80 percent or more of the fanbase stopped playing altogether not just DD then that could do it but that's incredibly doubtful. This is a very small playerbase comparatively as it is so I doubt SDS has any worry about losing profits or being affected by a boycott so to speak.....

Folks, this can‘t be serious. If they did, you would start with your current squad and grind for 97, 98s and 99 again…. in June/July … Wow, 23 again, worst version in the last 3 years.
I remember very fondly how angry people were to grind for cards that did not make their team better … And you are demanding just that … very irritating tbh
EDIT: I am not saying that 24 is perfect, but the grind99/97 (with dozens of 99 in my binder) for weeks and months in 23 was really a lowpoint. The only way building up your squad last year was choosing between Cal and or Rollins and being angry that new cards did not fit neither of that team.

I agree with that. The main thing I'm complaining about this year is the "hard stop" on using Set 1 cards. Last year wasn't great, but at least we had overlap (use set 1 cards until set 3, etc.)

I just hope they go back to innings format in the next game

I needed that laugh, thanks.

I think the current format is weird.
Jimmy Rollins doesnt belong on a team of 89s. Guy has a big enough ego in real life.
My guess is they regroup after the year and once Sony realizes that power creep sells stubs and seasons stops people from buying stubs then seasons will go away.
The only compromise I can think of is open the first third of the season to all cards under 90, then all cards 95 in the second third. The third TA drops clears restrictions.
But then give incentives to play with current set cards, like a track that is purely non card rewards (packs, stubs, etc) so people wont be compelled to complete it but give a bonus to those who try new cards.
