I mean, I agree that it is out of control this year. I understand the Yankees getting the most cards but is has been a bit excessive this year.

My guess is that SDS has plenty of data stating which teams players seem most eager to spend stubs on and then they focus more on those teams.

They focussed super heavy on Jeter. Quite a few of the Yankee cards come from the Subway Eat Fresh series.

I'm not a Yankee fan but it makes sense that the Jeter thing has pushed their numbers up with all the players you get from his storyline. If you remove those cards the number of cards probably realign to any normal year. Yankees and Dodgers naturally are going to have more cards than other teams because they have better histories and more fans than most other teams. Cardinals are having a down year and they are the only other team that I could see having an argument in any given year.

They could still balance it out. The "legends " don't have to be all time greats , they could be guys that had one good year and all teams have plenty of those.

I mean, they have lots of really great legends. But I do not think we needed a Yankee Stanton cornerstone

Maybe we will get a storyline next year that is a bit more varied. They could have done more with this one though, bring in some new legends from some of the world series teams Jeter played against, for instance Robin Ventura from the 2000 Mets (who ended up playing a season with Jeter anyway).

I used the Subway Captain Jeter card for three games. Haven't used any of the other ones aside from Rivera and that was only for a couple weeks. Largely underwhelming program for the amount of time it took.

I'd like to see "mini" storylines, or one for each team where you follow a key player. For example, a BlueJays storyline could follow either Joe Carter from his trade from the Padres through to his walk off in 93'. Or Jose Bautista from his trade through the "batflip" game, or EE's trade from the Reds through his rise from a "you have to take him too" player to the 3 homer game, to his WC walk off homer in '16.

RedSox legends like maybe Varitek/David Ortiz/Manny Ramirez through the years leading up to and including '04

Mark Burhle/Paul Konerko/Jon Garland through a a couple plot lines leading up and including breaking their own curse.

a Cubs storyline starting with the Bartman game through sever key points through to 2016 and their curse ending.

Stuff like that would be really cool. I know it would take time and resources...but maybe it's something they look into?

@Sarge1387_PSN I don't use the Subway series one and I would mostly agree with you. Very underwhelming and not a very rewarding event.
I use the captain one however, and it's pretty fine for the effort you put into the storyline

Unfortunately the resources in probably dont match the hours of play out, even though storylines are well received (and held the game keep good ratings while not changing much else)

I think the storylines are great, but its one and done.

Nolan Ryan seems like an obvious choice for a career storyline.
Beltre would have been a good one for this year, we will see what his hall of fame program brings.

8 cards for them right off rip, you could've spread that a little better so more teams fans were eager to start the season. Especially since they reset. F you SDS, you suck and your game is stale. Ban me I don't care. Barely want to play this mess anyway
