Double XP timing?

"Double XP is over at 3pm," I thought. "I'm going to try to maximize my XP gain today and play most of the morning."

I stopped playing around 2pm and just picked it up a few minutes ago to play a little more, except the XP cap graphic came up and now I can't gain any more XP until midnight. Make it make sense.

I probably gained 20k XP this morning, but the cap was supposed to be 60k. But because I'm already over 15k for the day, I'm screwed. Why wouldn't it get reset when 3pm EST hit? Anyone over 15k for the day now has to wait

The cap at this point is stupid anyways …the cap was originally to keep the goons from doing exploits to get the bosses sooner than intended. The sooner than intended thing is long past now we have 4 days left
