Why is everyone afraid to throw strikes?
-
@Cubsfan217 you’re exactly what I’m talking about, boy would rather win 1-0 than actually have fun and hit bombs. Boring ah.
-
@Theanalyst34 ok, whatever you say boy
-
@Theanalyst34 some people may think men's slow pitch softball is boring too. Anyone can hit a homer...
-
People must take giving up home runs personally, I guess. A well placed Changeup or Slurve in the zone could fool batters, but they don't have the confidence in making 'money pitches.'
I don't play online, but I know what approach I'd take in certain counts.
I know that's easier said than done, but last year the only time I did BR, I shut down some good hitting players! Even if I lost due to poor offense, it was a pleasure to see I could at least pitch online. -
Well spoken

@Simple-Jack3998 they have tiles that punish too many home runs in men’s softball leagues. They put things in place to keep 50 home runs from happening.
-
@Pergo that’s fine, I’m talking about how there is a massive amount of people who are just afraid to throw strikes even after you’ve proven you can lay off pitches, they just won’t do it.

So you win every game due to mercy rule as your opponents walk you around after refusing to throw strikes?
Stop trying to make your lack of discipline someone else’s shortcoming.
This is the only game where the defense has the ball, and the goal is to keep it from being batted around. If you can’t stop swinging at bad pitches, that becomes an easy task, and the blame falls squarely on you.
-
At the end of the day, plate discipline is the end all be all of being good in this game imo.
I've been playing for 4 years now and I still can't help myself from swinging at the BS. If the game is being played on allstar, alot of these players that you say dont throw strikes is due to being shelled by some goon that hits it hard no matter where or fast it is. The pci is big enough and if the player is good enough anything in the zone will get destroyed. Some of these players have eagle eyes and don't swing at anything close to edges.
-
If your opponent isn’t throwing strikes how are you in a 3-2 count?…. Oh that’s because no matter where a ball is thrown if you swing it’s a strike lol

This is ridiculous guys, just about every player I play these days refuses to throw strikes even on a 3-2 count. No matter how many pitches I take, they will not throw me strikes, or four seems for that matter. This makes the game completely boring to play, I just don’t understand what happened to the days of battling it out and seeing who can outlast the other in 15-14 ball games. PLEASE THROW STRIKES, YOU HAVE A DEFENSE AND A BATTLING LINEUP FOR A REASON.
snore pitching. So boring when playing players like that, They want a 3 hour game.
-
I mean…The object of baseball is to score more runs than your opponent. So with SDS still allowing small wiffle ball fields & max elevation stadiums - Yeah, People try to pitch carefully. But if you’re recognizing pitches & taking walk after walk - They’ll either start throwing strikes or they’ll just quit. But it’s up to YOU to make them throw strikes.
-
So what i got from this...i swing at everything, and its my opponents fault...
-
@Theanalyst34_XBL how about 4-3….. the fact u made it seem like he wants no runs cause u think 30 runs a game makes sense is insane
