Agree with everything stated. There is so much wrong with the game this year and instead of doing the BARE MINIMUM of acknowledging that they are aware of the community’s concerns, what do we get instead?
Pack after pack after pack….a “fix” to BR because we weren’t “playing as intended” when redrafting and BR reward spreadsheets have been a thing for literal years, and no gameplay adjustments
It literally feels like they’ve thrown in the towel on 24 already.
They do not care about a quality game anymore. They care about our pockets
EA pulled this with NHL this year too, just half a$$ed it, mailed it in. I hate the "not playing as intended" buffoonery because all that translates to is "they're not wasting their time and money the way we want them to"
Facts
And from a PR standpoint, do they not realize how bad it looks to come out randomly and adjust BR when there are literal bugs and issues with this game that are far more important to address?
How [censored] stupid. It does not matter if the bugs/issues are more complex to resolve than the adjustment of BR. If that’s the case, you acknowledge that to the community and that you’re actively working on those issues before you randomly and needlessly adjust an online mode to cut an efficient, fair stub making method for talented players
Read the room SDS, just shooting yourselves in the foot over and over.
-
@doobiebross66-72 yeah they’re literally just milking us for all the cash they can get us to spend before they see player numbers drop and then they’ll start giving us stuff. I’m sure the content people and devs know this and hate it, but unfortunately micro transactions have become the goal of this industry

I am not going to beat this dead horse cause I want to believe they will get the message and fix it. I still want to preach SOME patience but I will not deny it gets harder every week to keep on that path. I am personally going to see the start of season 2 before I change back to roasting them hard but I really hope for positive change cause I do not get off on ripping this game cause I do really love it.

I feel you. I do not like feeling frustrated with the game either. But if we’re really wanting things to change, you voice your opinion and concerns on the forum like we’ve seen for years
I honestly had a blast playing from launch night through the first 7-10 days or so
Then it became apparent how “content” was going to be structured this year and that is minimal programs with maximum packs in the store
I have little to no faith that they pivot away from this
Couple that with them not even acknowledging the actual issues and bugs with the game, and simultaneously focusing their efforts adjusting things that they feel like will squeeze money out of their player base…yeah they deserve the roasting they’re getting on here and all over social media. This yeah has been an actual joke so far

@Sarge1387
I an nhl guy at least they have given us good free cards through moments and stat missions. Yes the gameplay is awful , but SDS has killed the game the past 2 years by putting the best cards in packs. -
@Imbeater Yeah, I only log on at this point to see what pittance my team is getting since it's not the Yankees or Dodgers overflow. I'll do a conquest here and there, but there are no cards really worth it.
Very meh year, and I told myself I wouldn't do this year.

[censored] patience. They took money for early access and the game was broke as hell. They let legacy issues persist but jump on exploits that affect their bottom line faster than you can say "persistent monetization." They wiped people's accounts for weeks and never even issued an apology to the community.
Hell, has anyone even seen CBrev in a month? He might be hiding in shame for being associated with this year's game.
SDS is gross this year, period.

This game sucks SD studios never listens to the community and they are shady

From someone who blasts SDS and can't stand them this year -- that's a kindergartener's analysis. The "never" listen to the community? -- Uh, they abandoned last year's DD approach because it was unpopular. They made BR 10-0. They made RS a program.
They're "shady"? How? Actually, they're in-your-face with their greed this year, the opposite of shady.
They suck, but comments like that don't forward the narrative at all.
-
@Loyal-Wiglaf Same lazy cards and art work. Barely any new players. Shady tactics on stubs with resells. Horrible support that hides behind an app and an email. Would you like more????
-
I'm sticking it out for the rest of this Season and will see if any changes are made for season 2 (not expecting any).
All I ever try and do is earn all of the best Cardinal cards for offline play. So far this year only 1 of the teams top five cards is earnable through a program (Torre Team Affinity). 3 are in packs and one is a collection reward that I will never have enough cards for.

Im most likely done after this season. I can't stand the format of season and sets. 100% the reason i quit the game last year, and 100% the reason why i didn't buy the game this year (gamepass) for first time in years. Add to that the game just so pack heavy this year its crazy 🤪. It sucks but i have no problems with quitting a game. Did it with madden after a lifetime of playing that, and The Show is about to follow the same fate.
-
I'll be sticking it out. I'm enjoying gameplay this year and I've learned to just ignore the pack cards and not even worry about them. Once you can convince yourself to just kind of tune them out and not even worry about whether you have them or not it helps. I'm having fun just playing with the free cards out there and any lucky pulls.

But, they just added the Future City stadium content!!!!

I love that you’re enjoying the game, as others are too I’m sure. I genuinely mean that too
But despite that, this game still has so many flaws and SDS is doing the absolute worst job they ever have since I’ve been playing back in 2016
Those things can be mutually exclusive

@doobiebross66-72
Not only that, but they peddle these pipeline and middling players like they are some big draw, where are the bigger names? Where does the extra Microsoft and Nintendo money go? They seemed to have gotten better caliber players when it was JUST Sony.
Really a L game this year

Same. The second I am no longer enjoying or believe the juice is not worth the squeeze then I am out. I quit the last two maddens within 2 months and will not be buying this year. The changes to this game in addition to the lack of game play changes (foul balls) that they refuse to make also lead me to being done with this game.
Honestly, co-op with my buddy is about the only thing keeping me interested right now and that remains to be seen how long that continues as we approach the end of S1 and the grind starts all over again.
The only game that truly holds my interest for longer than a month or two is nhl because they have the EASHL one's mode and I can just skate around clobbering everyone. I spend more time laughing and smiling playing that mode than I have almost any game in my life lol
I will be trying NCAA this year but if it's not fun or basically a madden clone of abilities and youtube warriors then I will be out on that too.
I quit gaming for a solid 8-10 years while starting my family and career. It would suck to quit it again because it brings back memories of playing as a kid I am perfectly happy to give it up over more time spent in my shop woodworking.

No, they just renamed sets as 'seasons'. It's still the same with expiring cards, and it's even more strict since there's no carryover from season to season (except wildcards).
I'm playing through season 1 and then will decide if I play anymore. I have no interest in NCAA football so that's not a factor. It's just that SDS has taken their game in a direction I don't find appealing. Replacing actual content with packs in the store is lame and predatory.
On that subject, they're even doing the cash grab in a clumsy way since there's little reason to spend a lot on packs that (1) will be outclassed in a week or two tops and (2) eventually expire anyway. The game is just packs packs packs with no incentive to even buy the [censored] things.
Last thing - while voicing opinions is important, the only difference I or anyone can make is to stop buying the game. I caved at the last minute and got '24 while fully expecting the game to be subpar and now regret it.

I dont have anything to do for a week now... Ill play RTTS for a half hour or so each night and then play Madden

I actually enjoy Madden franchise more than anything in this game. If you could lock in the gold and sim training that would make it even better -- training the same drills gets really boring. A refreshed UI and better draft classes would be nice too (although there is a slider for classes that actually works).
Nothing in this game holds me like Madden's franchise, and I wouldn't have said that 3 years ago. The games are going in opposite directions for me, a franchise player who's disgusted with online monetization modes.
