The Game is still great even to this day enjoying this playing more than the show for now. I particularly like and enjoy the coaches arguing with the umpire on a bad call or a close call and when the pitcher hits too many hitters the hitter then charges the mound. The gameplay is still great

Those are now specifically prohibited by the licensing agreement.

Sorry, but the good ole' days are never coming back.

Looking at older sports games from the pre-live service era will only depress you. Hell, looking at what franchise mode used to be in this game when they had concession prices, travel expenses, etc., is depressing. I'm kind of convinced an emulator is the way to go at this point...

@SuntLacrimae50 I'm glad I'm not the only one that things this way. I miss the old franchise mode so much which was truly managing a team. Now it's just a joke. I even miss the penthouse that was your main franchise/the player you made's screen and you could see all the trophies. Little stuff like that is what made baseball video games great back in the day. Now it's just copy paste with more ways for developers to pull $ out of consumers with giving them little in return.

100%. The golden era is gone. Unless by golden we mean monetization.

Imagine what some creative people could do to add value to the UI even in a baseball game that has all the rights to MLB history...it's sad.

I do miss when that stuff was in games. Added a bit of fun. There is so much that could be incorporated into this that isn't. It's really frustrating to think of what might be...

To each their own; I found the franchise aspects (tickets, concessions etc) tedious. I preferred a set budget like High Heat Baseball used to have. The gradual building of a ballpark was nice for sure, though.
