cut-off man
-
Been happening a bit this version where I'm getting the ball in from deep in the outfield and for some reason the cut-off man is somewhere near the pitcher. I don't watch much baseball but ever since little league and softball, the cut-off man was always partially in the outfield. Very frustrating trying to throw someone out only for the throw in to take forever. Is this normal? Never remember this being a thing in years past.

From left or right the 2b and ss should be in the grass, from CF the 1b is the cutoff and is by the mound

@PAinPA that doesn't make any sense to me. So when the ball is further away in CF the cut-off gets even further?

The cutoff man is always supposed to run out to the 2nd base or ss side when the ball is hit in the gap. Also, down either line, the cutoff man should always be on the 1st base side or 3rd base side depending on how many runners are on and where the logical play will be.
In this game, it seems the fielders get it right 50% of the time. The cutoff man should never be around the pitchers mound, lol. This has happened to me quite a bit. I'd be like, broooooo, where dafuk is the cutoff man playin!? Is he ritarded?! PHUCKKKKK!!!
I'm surprised no one else noticed and complained about this. -

Well he is supposed to be between 2nd and the mound, the idea is a quick relay to the plate, and the 2nd baseman covers 2nd to keep a runner there(or throw behind) and same at third.
The 1B is supposed to be near the dirt between mound and 2nd but in the game and in rl the 1B is usually all over the center of the infield.
