Hold vs Sell

Now, assuming it's the same as previous years, there is going to be a Core Collection.
If it's a wanted, or even high rated player, Core cards increase in price. Especially ones that are only available from the Market. IE: Preorder cards like the Hyper Series and the Breaking Barrier Series.
I have every card, not locked in, in both these series. I bought them for the above reason. But even with these being the only ones you need to get the Hyper Vlad Jr; they have been tanking.
Now, I can sell them now (only using Griffey and Beltre) and possibly get the SA Duran (want) and maybe the SA Cruz.
But then I'll miss out on any possible extra stubs, if the next Core Collection reward is 'valuable'.
I highly doubt, with the way stubs are hard to come by, I'll save up enough to get Duran without selling some stuff.
So, would anyone else consider selling off potential investments to buy something they could use now?
