The only way to survive a a fan of a baseball video game is to adapt to what they are doing and realize we'll never get the content the way we used to get it. Unless they have competition, SDS is in the business of making money and the monopoly they have means they can turn a deaf ear on the community. What are we really going to do? Stop playing? Nope because we love baseball video games and short of arcade cartoon games or mobile games there is no choice. So personally, I've adapted by not doing LS this year and forget about being a completionist. I'm taking any fun cards I like and playing whatever I can. Also giving franchise a try. The market is the most volitile I've ever seen it so playing that to make stubs is a gamble. My 2-3 hour nights of grinding are turning into an hour which I guess is good and bad. Hell all in I'm probably in this forum this year as much as I play lol. All said, we have a great looking game that is a shell of its former self with no real change on the horizon.

Just wait until they limit the amount of orders on the marketplace like EA do. That’s the last bit of hope left.
Im so glad I didn’t bother buying the game this year. I could see the way it was going and when I saw sets were in the game again. That was the final straw for me.
The quicker they make micro transactions illegal. The better.

This year will definitely push me to OOTP for good. Though from what I hear they too have gone to the dark side with a "perfect team" mode...sigh...

That's me in a nutshell. Once I came to grips with this, I enjoy the game a little more.

SDS is going this direction during a renaissance of 1st-person games that are crushing it: Elden Ring, BG3, Cyberpunk (minus launch), and a few others that fly in the face of the "1st person offline gaming is dead" mantra.
I just find this interesting. I know it's a different genre and that EA and 2K have set the mold. But still...

That has always been me.
There is no single card in the game that would feel like it was worth the grind to me.

Nice. I'm the opposite. I grew up in the 80's with Topps sticker books, so collecting is probably just as important to me.
That being said, the binder system sucks in this game and they're now making it obnoxious to go NMS and collect cards, so...my days might be numbered.

I actually bought 1 card this year - Easter Jake Burger. He's so important to me that I'll use all my Wildcards going forward just for him. "Easter Burger Burger Meister"?

@SuntLacrimae50 I had those too!

@Adro97-_- I just hate that we get content avalanches instead of spreading it out.
Would've killed for the phillies conquest map and new ranked seasons this tuesday.
-
To be fair, this isn't the first time a team premiered the city connect in advance of using them and it didn't get in game till they actually played in them.
To be unfair, I am surprised it's a cq map,I was expecting an expensive pack with a non guaranteed chance to get like everything else so far. -

How cool would it be if SDS got some fricking creativity and reimagined the DD binder in a similar way? Remember that multi-foil-card picture of Ricky doing the headfirst slide the year he stole 130? The back-page future stars? The HR leader page? That was when the top 4 were Hank, Babe, Willie, and Frank Robinson...
Sigh, those were the days....
